Got it yesterday. It's a beast! Listened to it all the way through last night and it sounds amazing. The Appendix material is mostly first class, I can see myself listening to it a lot in the future. The last track in the set, 'Hugh Dallas', is so beautiful and haunting. Can't believe a song like that didn't make it on the record. It's brilliant. Super happy with the outcome of this reissue. Also loving the fact that both the album and bonus material are stored in their own gatefolds to put in your collection and expose the box on the shelves. Makes listening to it even more comfortable. This set is awesome. It does the record justice big time.

[PO] Deafheaven // Sunbather – 10 Year Remaster

Saw them live at this year's OFF festival. The new song was stunning. -
The bridge is pretty good I guess. Makes me remember the good times for about 20 secs. But man..this song blows.. Not a 'what the hell is Rivers doing now for f*ck's sake'-way, just in a 'this is so inherently boring I can barely sit through it's three and a half minutes' kinda way. At least he himself seems to recognize in the lyrics that his band used to be kinda better back in '94.. oh well.. Listened to the Green Album four times in a row on Friday. loved it..

Good Soundtracks to Get on vinyl
Eliminator Jr. replied to scissorkik's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
My favorite soundtrack is Lost in Translation. Got an OG copy as a birthday gift about eight years ago. Makes me happy every time I'm pulling it out the shelves. Also a big fan and collector of soundtracks by Angelo Badalamenti and Ennio Morricone. Especially the latters work on italian b-movie thrillers from the early 70's are essential to me. -

I bought it retail, shipped from a dutch import distributor to germany. Couldn't find a link to place an order or any information whatsoever on this particular pressing. -

Whirl (Whirr) - Distressor EP
Eliminator Jr. replied to jhulud's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I totally appreciate and support the idea of unlimited runs. It's such a hassle with all those /200 variants being out of print all the time. Especially digging the fact of the unlimited variant being that uniquely beautiful. -

Thanks mate. Gonna make an entry to discogs if I have the time later. Do you have any information on how many copies there are of this pressing? Also gonna check the Graveface thread on any further information. And yes, it ist very pretty indeed. Splatter variants get me every single time. -

Just got my copy of this awesome EP and can't find any info on which pressing it actually is. I already checked discogs etc and none of the listed variants is the one I recieved. It has the 'dog-cover' and the vinyl is a grey with blue & white splatter variant. Anybody knows what's up with that? -
Soon: Wolves in the Throne Room - Celestite
Eliminator Jr. replied to Neanderthal's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Got the clear today. Aweseome packaging as always with WITTR. Not really into the album, have yet to give it a proper full listen though. Maybe putting this on tonight and see where it's gonna take me. Mainly bought it to keep my collection of theirs complete. -

I get what you're saying, but I just can't stand any of all that hard rockin' groupie lovin' rock'n'roll star douchebag behaviour. These things really gross me out. Def will be able to enjoy their performance though, gonna keep my eyes on that nerdy looking guitarist and appreciate his mad skills. -

Well that sounds fucked up. Really fuckin' douchey. Seeing them live two times in August, hope to enjoy the music without any of the musicians ruining it for me by being stupid people. -
Totally agreed. Bought the record a while back from a german mailorder, which was like the only possible way to get it in the first place, although I'm working in a damn record store. Quite a pain in the ass to acquire that album here. More recent: Hotelier. Home, Like NoPlace Is There (black Vinyl) Ennio Morricone. Le foto proibite di una signora per bene /500

You gave it to him at cost?! What a special kind of wonderful you are. That guy should post that deal over at the 'I just got one of the best deals of my life'-thread. People's jaws'll soon be dropping all over the place.

I just got one of the best deals of my life.
Eliminator Jr. replied to Yeezy's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Found a red/blue swirly copy of Nirvana's Hormoaning EP Australian '92 tour-edition at the flea market for 9$ in tripledouble mint condition last year. Still pretty stoked. Also had a great ebaydeal couple years ago: UK first press of MBV's Isn't Anything + now kinda rare Ectsasy EP for 15$ total. -
Never a bad idea to convince oneself towards some true Locrian ownage. Beautiful pickups.

Giles Corey on vinyl would be insane. I'd be all over that.

Even the standard can no longer be ordered from the flenser for now. I would not have guessed that. Really hope they are able to keep the standard in stock for everyone who missed out yesterday.

Yeah, there are vinyl collector's who value sound quality. Not that irritating I guess. Also this pressing doesn't necessarily have to be junk just because it is not mastered dmm all analog and pressed at Optimal Media. The vinyl format can add a certain amount of warmth and depth to music, regardless of those thing. Maybe I'm wrong and this pressing sounds like crap, but I won't judge before my ears do. To a certain amount: yes. I've been wanting to own this piece for four years and missed out on the second pressing. This record is very important to me. And regarding the master being 'optimal', the guys at flenser genuinely informed us about the mastering situation. Obviously this is the best they can present us. And I'm willing to give it a shot whithout calling it names five minutes after ordering it.

With that kind of thought process going on I think you are going to be let down by this release regardless of what it actually sounds like.
