Retail copy on cyan blue. I can't really remember why I bought it, but it's fine. Next week my MoFi Blue Album arrives in the mail, so I figured I'd give this a spin before it's going to be sittin' on shelves forever.

I feel ya. I'm in love with their new sound. The two previous records had their moments, but didn't do it for me in the long run either.

I'm thinking about framing the shit out of this on my walls, but the picture's good for now.

Adore is the next reissue of the series that turns out pretty awesome. It's a REALLY thick, glossy gatefold, the new artwork is outstanding and the records sound so so good. Unfortunately I can't compare to the OP, but I immediately found the LP to be warmer and much smoother than the CD. I learned to love this album a few months ago, instead of thinking it's really good for a couple years, and this reissue could not make me happier. Yet I cannot seem to understand how sticking a piece of paper on the back of every reissue that says goodbye as soon as you unwrap it can by anyone be considered as a good idea.

Sorry, no link, this is, like, highly confidential news I got from a sales representative from the german distributor releasing the box set over here who stepped by at the record store I'm working at,. He already had the opportunity to take a look at the set and brought us the news about the 7" and the recording sessions going on. I know this is a vague source to you and I can't guarantee for anything, but the guy is in this business for 20+ years and never brought any news that turned out to be bullshit.

This one is just not for me. Although I'm feeling some of the tracks (100$ Tip especially), the spoken word stuff kills most of it for me. It's good most of you folks like it though, always a fan of bands trying to push their boundaries and experiment. Will most likely be in for LP2 again.

I cannot seem to understand how or why this record is any improvement on the last few albums. This is like Hurley all over again. Not worse, but also not the least bit better.

Seems to be pretty common ground with this LP. Someone on Discogs posted this reply by SubPop a while back: "Sorry to hear that. It was a known problem when the 2nd pressing was made back in 2010 when the manufacturer put the first pressing's "color vinyl" sticker on the new black vinyl pressing. We issued a notice to all stores who might have received those records, and even re-stickered all the stock that we could that wasn't already in stores or with distributors. 3 years later though we're still occasionally coming across copies like yours that have been out in the world for a while."

This exactly. In her mail she was asking to be notified when costs wouldn't match ones expectations, so she could pass 'your' copy to someone else. I'd just ask kindly if there are any open slots left.

Listening to the beer/black haze right now. There's a whole lot of surface noise between the songs, other than that it sounds pretty fancy.

I agree wholeheartedly. I wouldn't mind the 40$ for the record, but I can't justify going to the customs office and pay all those fees after paying another 15$ for shipping. As much as I would've loved to go through with this, it's just too much. The retail will do. This album is fucking beautiful start to finish.

I started following him around 3 years ago, when he was that kinda nerdy guy telling good things about records he likes. It's gotten pretty much worse with every review since then.

I just finished spinning the 180g set. Haven't listenend to Deathcon since first news about reissue and preorder went up, since I wanted to be most excited to finally listen to one of my favourite albums on vinyl. Man, it was worth it. I am happy now.
