dreamover reacted to moegly in WordPress theme for cataloging records
Well I appreciate your honesty. It just took me a few months to develop it and a lot of my time, so I was basically hoping to make some extra money so I could afford to buy a few records each month. I hope that's not too much to ask. Most custom WordPress themes are $30 to $50 on themeforest.net so I didn't think $10 was too bad.

dreamover got a reaction from daegor in Jack White/Third Man Records announces a bunch of new gimmicky bullshit
for most situations i'd agree with this, but jack is hardly whoring out his back catalog. at least a new jack album every year since this man opened (DW, JW, etc) and producing tons of singles and bands people would otherwise never hear of (and some i wish i didn't), the man is a workaholic and doing more for vinyl than arguably anyone today. -

I truly do hope that some of the copies that are already on ebay are from people who were banking on the .ca price. Hopefully someone got shafted a little bit for their flipping ways.

dreamover got a reaction from drds89 in LP storage case?
http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B0009RNYQG - this is the only one with free shipping i could find. holds about 20 LP's. i have the third man and white stripes branded ones. when they're full, they're heavy as hell. i wouldn't recommend getting one that's too much bigger.

dreamover got a reaction from element101 in Third Eye Blind - S/T
my best advice is to not announce anything until it is in production. at minimal attention, i've noticed you announce or tease several releases that to my understanding aren't happening. i know they've all hit bumps in the road along the way, and you thought they were happening, but that's happened to me too. Those releases that have hit bumps have never been announced by me, and no one gets disappointed. It just looks unprofessional and will give you're brand a bad rep fast. Many labels and even bands talk about ETR like it's the laughing stock of the "vinyl industry" because of all these things. Perhaps your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Most of us know what a pain in the ass it is to work with huge labels or labels with less than ethical practices (cough cough drive thru). You have to work with whoever owns the music. There's a few labels out there that totally fuck bands and you can almost guarantee if you work with these labels, the band is going to see you as the enemy along with them. I wouldn't touch those labels with a ten foot pole

dreamover got a reaction from rudeboydh in VC - Who are you voting for in the presidential election?
Taking away women's right to abortion and saying "fuck you, it was your dumb decision to get pregnant" and making them live with a kid and giving that kid a shitty life is not a very good punishment. there's studies that show those unwanted kids are the ones who grow up to get more abortions and kill people and deal drugs.
But just because your or my morals tell us we wouldn't want our girl to have an abortion doesn't mean we should force that belief on people who don't have the same values and will end up taking it out on their kid in the future.
It doesn't make sense to say "NO ABORTIONS" and "NO WELFARE". The republicans want too bad to have all these unwanted babies born and then don't want to fund any programs to give them a halfway decent life. MAKES NO GOD DAMN SENSE.
I was against abortion for a long time when I was younger and easily influenced. But now I was looking at it in the small window of my life and the people I knew. If they outlawed abortion for my white suburban community, it'd probably be fine cause those few girls that shouldn't be having babies would probably be taken care of by their parents. I also realized I've yet to meet a woman who is about to have sex and says, "don't wear a condom, i don't like how that feels. i prefer getting an abortion". Where republicans get this idea that women use abortion as birth control is beyond me. The few women I know that have had abortions would never want to go through that experience again and didn't think it was worth ruining both their lives for.
