  1. wasn't that apple the motif for the first of the newly released Chromatics stuff from that mysterious new album? that was about a year ago though I guess
  2. found a 1st press copy in my local record shop here in Germany - for 10 euros! had to snag it, and what a cool package it is. thanks to the band and the label for putting this out.
  3. can confirm that the stream/playlist is working on the German site.
  4. it seems to have been below many people's radar, but in its respective thread it's pretty much consensus that this is an incredible album. Not as electronic or "hip" as Daughter, bute more intimate, "authentic". That closing track alone goes hard on all the levels of feels.
  5. Totally.. and awesome in a way. I would still like to know what they are exactly saying in that sample. A part of it seems to be from the Book of Acts 2:22 (according to Google), but the part with "He is now a judge" etc. does not seem to be a part of that, too. So, if anyone here knows, I'd like to know the meaning :-)
  6. This hasn't been mentioned in this thread so far. Here's an awesome and insightful interview with Julien: http://www.stereogum.com/1839442/read-an-interview-with-young-phenom-julien-baker-and-watch-her-sprained-ankle-video/franchises/interview/ Most importantly, it answers a detail I've been thinking about a lot lately. In the last track, "Go Home", there's this awesome piano piece with some radio-speech like sample in the background. Through close listening and the powers of Google I was able to tell that this must in part be some sermon or pieces of a bible recitation, even found the right spot online. But the story she reveals behind it is reeeaally awkward, but you should read that yourself. I'm not even a religious person, I just think the way those two things blend together so perfectly in the music is really noteworthy. Still waiting to get my hands on a vinyl copy over here... This is a must-buy.
  7. I have like a mental threshold at 50-60€ for a record I'd really really love to own. Anything above would seem like an inadequate amount of money, also regarding I'm still a student. However, when a friend of mine broke up his vinyl collection I couldn't pass up a Have Heart - The Things We Carry (1st press, pre-order /260) variant in near mint condition for 70€. Both of us knew that it's actually worth a lot more, but he said he didn't really mind the money as long as he knows the record is in good hands. That was really humbling of course, especially since it is my favorite hardcore record of all time and one of the albums that got me into this kind of music in the first place. Also getting it from a friend made it even more special, so I'm pretty stoked overall. That was an extraordinary purchase for me so I don't really see anything else following that up soon.
  8. after a few tries I remain a little disappointed by this album. It seems a bit shallow and uninspired (still this has a few great licks, such as the closing section of "New Ways"). Guess I'm rather gonna stick with the recent Julien Baker LP for this kind of tunes.
  9. any info on the retail variant? I take it for granted that it will only be standard black vinyl, which I can live with. But does anyone know whether it will also have the foil printed cover etc.? If I understood CT's statement correctly, even the standard version is going to come with two art/lyric books - that would be super nice!
  10. check ccmusic.com with the current 25% discount code you should be able to get a pretty good deal.
  11. nope, there is also a 180g black version, which is probably the one most retail/online shops will get.
  12. can anyone confirm that this listing by ccmusic.com is really the Deluxe Edition with the embossed cover? The description says so, but I haven't ordered from them before so I'm not sure how correct/legit their listings are. Thanks!
  13. this sale is unreal. thanks for the code! their international shipping rates are also awesome. I teamed up with two friends and put in neat little order. Ordered Deafheaven's New Bermuda 2LP, it says Deluxe Edition and the description is also matching (with the embossed cover and stuff). Can anyone verify that they really provide this particular edition? I already own a "standard" copy of the record.
  14. just gave this a full listen for the first time. It will need a few more times, but so far it's really promising.
  15. yep, still need to acquire a poly sleeve that fits the whole thing.
  16. got my amazon.it copy today! The shipping was super fast. Despite from a smaaall small corner ding this came in pristine shape - and what a beautiful package it is! Seemingly I really lucked out on this at this price, I'm wishing everyone else who is waiting the best of luck! Pushing back the availability date actually seems like a good thing here, they probably just backordered more copies.
  17. that's weird. I'm pretty sure they are completing orders in the order they received them. Have you looked for the email in your spam folder?
  18. dude, fingers crossed for you! I'm still preparing for the worst (seamsplits...) though in regard of Amazon's record shipping methods...
  19. got the shipping confirmation from amazon.it today, delivery date set to 3rd of december.
  20. Personally I know of only one specific pressing, there has not been a reissue/remaster/whatever yet. I bought a second hand copy a few months ago and it actually sounds pretty decent, at least by far not as terrible as I was expecting. These might just be hit-or-miss, so don't shell out too much money for them maybe.
