  1. will attend the show in Cologne. Awesome! Probably won't be the case, but here's to hoping for a EU tour variant (edit: in case they can press it in time).
  2. lol @ the excerpt of the vinyl playback at the end of that video. That is so sloppy. Metallica really seem to celebrate their own decline.
  3. this thread makes me so jealous each and every time I take a look. I couldn't see him when he played Germany in september, and now I see all this awesome tour gear. A tri-color copy or even the boxset would be so rad to own, but from overseas it is simply impossible (read: unaffordable).
  4. yep, same with my copy. The pink has a cool "neon" tone to it though, but you have to look quite closely to really see it.
  5. I might be misinformed, but I always thought their demo was a one-time run of only 1,000 copies. It seems weird how they still appear to be widely available compared to the vast exposure this band got in recent times. Or do people simply not like the demo? If so, why the hell not?
  6. I bought a black copy around two months ago. It comes with the die-cut sleeve and the pressing quality is fantastic, making it a real pleasure simply putting this record on. Although it didn't specifically say so in the product description, it might as well be 180g vinyl since it's quite thick and heavy.
  7. the band does have it in their webshop indeed, but they ship exclusively from the US (they repeatedly confirmed this on facebook). including shipping to europe, it comes down to more than 60€ for one copy.
  8. I see why you are saying that, and for US customers that might be the better (or the best) option in the end. Over here in Germany, prices seem to go a little steeper for the import though - I asked my local shop and they said they estimate that the price (if they get copies, that is) will be about 90€, which is around double the price the Amazon.com import was for me (I see that it's not guaranteed they will get copies anyway, but since I simply can't afford to pay much higher prices, it's basically this or nothing for me).
  9. what Sasan said. Nonetheless, I'm excited for Wake/Lift.
  10. that Smiths stuff is awesome! Keep it coming. I own a few of those singles/maxis as well, love the coherent art direction.
  11. its still available from Northern Silence Productions, the Germany-based label that puts this out. Shipping to the US shouldn't be too expensive either. There's even still the clear variant /100 available. I'm still on the fence about this.. cool moments on this for sure, but the incorporation of the folk elements comes off a little artifical for me. Will need to give it a few more listens. On another note, charging 5€ (or even 7€!) for the more limited variants is really putting me off, too. I will be happy with a black copy for 15€, though.
  12. this has me pretty afraid that my favorite track off of this, "Askim", might be affected. I will wait on further user/listener reports.
  13. awesome story! these guys are actually from where I live. That sounds way cool!
  14. also received a shipping confirmation for my order from Kingsroad on monday, it says it's shipped via "DHL Express" (I live in Germany, about 1 hour drive from their warehouse away). Tracking is stuck with the first step since then, though. hopefully it's just an update error and it will be delivered today. Waiting on this is really hard! Also, thanks for the pics on the last page! To be honest, that green marble looks a bit cooler than the pale pink version (which I ordered as well). I guess a pink/white marble (like that for Caspian's "Live at Old South Church") would have been so awesome with the cover art.
  15. well, it's not the most serious listen, but I can imagine worse. It's good for some lighthearted, easy listening.
  16. after some time contemplating I actually bought this yesterday. My shop had it at a decent price (15€) and for the beginning of fall you can never go wrong with some nice semi-melancholic-without-being-cheesy singalongs. I do like the record for that matter.
  17. I can't find any info on the last few pages, so please allow me the question what's going on with that Twin Peaks release? Is it a reissue? Or mere repress of the score? I would definitely like both of those things.
  18. I think I disagree. Yes, there is still some pretty chaotic stuff going on here, but there are also many melodic, catchy as fuck or even anthemic parts that even make me want to sing along with it. "Roadside Cross" or "Satellite" seem like old Loma have made a baby with a modern indie/emo group like Sport or Castevet (oh man, I want them back). While this melodic stuff was (pretty much) only to be found in "Fly By Night" as far as the I.V. album goes, this is a lot more widely used on Self Portrait. It's definitely a lot more accessible from the get-go than their older stuff, but I love it that way as it still has enough weirdness going on in other tracks.
  19. thanks guys! I would also be interested in your thoughts about the pressing as your own listening goes in a bit more detail so far I only have the mp3 version and I'm digging the calm sections quite a lot here.
  20. would like to hear a few words about the pressing quality. According to the data on discogs, this might be a little much music for 3 LPs.
  21. would also be interested in any info on this.
  22. this has me wondering as well. Could be that SH is referring to the overall pressing as "deluxe" like most labels do when there is actually a normal pressing at hand. Because vinyl.
  23. Finally had the time to give this two proper listens. I agree with what most of you guys said. In my opinion, the pop segments (like the closing part of Come Back) get just the exact balance between genuine awesomeness and ironic reference to bands like Oasis, as was said before. Also, there seem to be a few nods to their own music here and there. For example from 4:00 on in the track Gifts to the Earth: it sounds quite similar to a certain riff from Sunbather. I can't figure out at the moment what song and part it exactly is, but it definitely is reminiscent, and I love when bands do that while still keeping the new stuff genuine. Seeing the EU presses pop up at people's doorsteps makes me hope I'll see mine as well in a short while :-)
  24. placed an order with amazon.com for $51 shipped to Germany. I will still definitely ask my local store again whether they can get it for me.
