You should be able to access the store with one month memberships.  When I joined I had access right away.

The whole point of Vinyl Me, Please is to get into stuff you wouldn't normally catch so I'm doing just that. The brief descriptions of what I read compare them to My Bloody Valentine, which is a band I enjoy immensely. That coupled with some buzz and excitement is all I needed to pull the trigger. Plus it just looks like a cool release.
 
Some of you make it sound like you've never bought music based on a recommendation....get over yourselves.

You can't expect Everything Now to always cost the same as Everything Then. 

No one has these in hand yet.  So as I mentioned before, I'm going to trust reliable Bull Moose over "some guy" on ebay that probably thinks he's going to get 10 copies.

Eh, you seem chill so it wouldn't be the worst thing to happen. As long as you immediately put it up on eBay for BIN of $200+, because that's what I plan on doing.. (kidding!)
 
 

Not to mention if VMP did nothing but big releases like Demon Days and Tidal they'd probably be broke.  I'm sure big records like that cost them a lot more (possibly even a loss) and they make up for it on records like Morby.  Not to say Kevin Morby won't be a good record, but I can't say from a business end I would blame them if they were setting up their releases in that fashion.

VMP was always going to face an uphill battle for release unique records given the vinyl resurgence, which is why they have moved away from describing their albums as 'essential'. The best albums out there are getting reissued or repressed by the bands and labels themselves. VMP tries to find some of those less known but loved albums to press, so they won't always be everyone's cup of tea (e.g., Panda Bear, Main Source, Nina Simone - still the best three month run from them in terms of small classics and quality, IMO). 
 
Not everyone can afford a club to send them albums they may not like, and some don't see the value in paying for albums they may not like; that's completely fine and very understandable. Just don't jump down people's throats who enjoy the curation. If you go to a restaurant and order the prix fixe menu, do you then ask for substitions because they aren't serving your favorite steak? No. You pay for a service to curate something great for you. So far, VMP has done a very admirable job.

Were you on the waiting list or did it literally ship a month ago?  Smart Post must depend on where you live because I get my packages from VMP faster than anything I've ever gotten through media mail.

I think he just meant in general people asking for $200+.  There's plenty of listings at that price.    
 
But now that i'm looking at the listings.  How much do you want to bet the ones that "Don't include artwork and drink recipe" are people that just claimed theirs was defective to get another copy.  

Sometimes older Albums of the months "Sell out" but then they find boxes in the warehouse.  They don't pull the full quantities online.  It's happened in the past with The Fugees.  No guarantee it will come back but it could.  

At least with a 3 month membership you get 2 additional records.  

I think it's nothing more than sellers trying to create a false sense of value.  

I've always wondered that to.  I think that was sort of the point he was trying to make to.  As I understood it anyway.
