    Good plan. Immerse yourself.

After having more time with the album I would personally rank it as an equal to In Rainbows, but AMSP will hold a much more special place in my heart as it was the personal soundtrack for the summer in which I got married and bonded with a much older brother over this band. Seeing them live at Lollapalooza with him was incredible.

Still dying for a basement session for these tracks. I'd devote a Friday or Saturday evening to that.

Based on the info from WASTE it looks like these were deployed to various locations worldwide for more local packing and shipping.

Radiohead LP's have not typically been kind to my OCD-fueled arrangement.

Oh no, I feel you! I get that totally. I think everyone has records and bands like that. I was just being transparent because often times we see funny stuff about how we suck now because somebody who never had much hand in the song writing left the band. But it's way more of a collective effort that feeds off the vibe rather than dictated by anyone person. The songs write themselves so to speak.  Just saying our sound or mood for any given record is always very much a conscious decision.

    Haha, no. I am Jeff.

Cory and I have been the sole songwriters since Wrongdoers, before I joined Scottie was another, and he shined with tracks like Deathbed Atheist. We've tried to collar with him on both of the last records for fun but just haven't been able to make it happen schedule-wise. Cory pretty much wrote almost all of O'God by himself, I believe Daniel wrote pretendeavor, though. It'd be super easy to go back and write more chaotic stuff like that or Redeemer, as we both have a background in that type of music but it's just not as fulfilling to us as musicians at this point in time. Kind of a been there done that deal. My musical interest as far as heavy music goes is pretty much solely with bands like Neurosis, Cult Of Luna, Kowloon Walled City, etc etc for the last decade as it's sort of just more where we are as people. At the end of the day we can only write things we enjoy and feel strongly about and never worry about pleasing anyone else or how it compares to past records other than do we like it more, as any other way would be in my mind, business-driven and fake and what not. Can't please everyone, unfortunately haha.

So I had waited to listen to anything off Polar Similar until it was released and I got my download of the entire album. This is 100% Album of the Year for me. I've always loved Norma Jean. I really dug deep into them when Redeemer was released. Picked it up from Walmart and it sat in my cd player for about 6 months. Fast forward to Wrongdoers, man that album was to me one of the heaviest albums I've ever heard. (Not trying to overshadow Meridional, its a amazing album too) Wrongdoers just struck a chord with me and it still sticks with me. I never thought they could top that. Then the chaos that is Polar Similar was unleashed. I can't believe I ever thought that they couldn't outdo Wrongdoers. I know, I'm an idiot. They not only outdid it, they complete took it to a new level but still stayed true to the Norma Jean sound. From Cory's hellish screams to his angelic singing, to the riffs and guitar tone, the driving bass, and the pounding drum patterns. This album has skyrocketed to the top of my all time favorite album. I haven't stopped listening to it yet, don't know if I ever will. Good job boys, another killer album. Sorry for the long post

I have both. I'm going to have to listen to each tonight to hear how bad it is.
I usually just play the OG when I listen to it anyway, but I like to collect all of the variants.

as far as IOH - what's been said is accurate. Good sounding, not amazing, but good. The OG (picture disc) was so bad I framed it and will never listen to it again
