This is pretty neat.  I never was hooked into their old stuff, but I'm enjoying this a bit.  Will listen more!

EDIT:  Okay fuck, Guardsmen through Ornithomancy is fucking incredible.  God damn.

Hey guys!  Getting all your records packed up today and should hopefully get them to the post office before work!  I'll have your tracking numbers for you afterwards.  Thanks for being patient!  The semester ended Friday and I had some assignments to get in under the buzzer, but I pulled off another 4.0 somehow.

Thanks so much for being patient, you're going to flip when you see these

hahaha yeah I can see how my post would have been mis-interpreted.  I was confused on the remaster myself, as they never announced it until like a week or 2 ago.  I never noticed.  But I did notice myself liking the album A LOT more since about that time, whenever I'd put it on Bandcamp.  So maybe that's why hahaha

Package came today!  I likely won't have any time to get to this until at least next week, as it is Finals week next week and I will be slammed with studying and papers.  But rest assured, they're here!!!  I'm hoping maybe Tuesday I can start digging in a little bit because I know we're all waiting, so I will do my best to get them all out ASAP!!!!

The vinyl is the remastered audio.  It was put to Bandcamp in mid-October.  Don't worry, you're getting the upgraded audio.  The vinyl pressing was also adjusted specifically for vinyl.

I don't know details on why yet, though.  I've just received a copy of the source OG master from a buddy, so I'm going to A/B them at some point.  But right now, everything on Bandcamp is the new master which I think sounds great.

Given the speed with which this sold out, there will be a repress.  So, sit tight if you didn't get a copy this time around!

    Yes, sorry dude.

For the future, I also need you guys to confirm participation beyond saying "i'm interested."  I'm doing this on my spare time while being full-time in school and working 2 jobs because I just like doing it, but doing last-minute coordination between what ended up being 12 people over multiple platforms can get a little hectic.  I can't calculate price estimates without confirmations on what you want and that impacts the decision to participate sometimes.  Some of you are great and do it regardless, but sometimes people get the estimate and then say "no thanks" which is fine too.  These move fast, and if I don't hear back I have to make a decision.  I will try to be clearer next time, because I want everybody to participate who wants to, but it seems I might need to post some other general practices or something so that this goes as smoothly as possible and there's no confusion or miscommunication on any end.

The label is getting me an invoice probably tomorrow night, so once I get that, I will reconcile my estimates with the official cost and payment requests will go out then.

Well this is certainly interesting.  The early Isis influence is readily apparent, which is cool.  Some of this is REALLY fucking great, some of it is really fucking weird.  Would like to own though!

    Edit - Bought.  yay

Yeah dude, I got the CD for my car and I listen to it at least 3 times through before I switch it out.  Fucking "Glint" and "Honeycomb" man...

Please listen again!  I've seen so many polarizing aspects of this album, people utterly hating on it because they added a lot of melody and post-rock kinda stuff to it.  However, I thank that demonstrates it to be their most mature, accomplished record yet.  I know many people who think New Bermuda is the best thing ever, but I feel within that record you can hear the disconnect and unhealthy place that the band was in - they were rushed, trying to follow up Sunbather (no fucking thank you to being in that position!) and it's not a bad record, but this record feels so much more together and focused.  You can tell the band is in a good spot, rather than under the gun and stressed out.  The new bass player helps a lot too, the bass playing on OCHL is fucking fantastic.

My only gripe is the Chelsea Wolfe track... it just feels kind of unfinished.  If they had interludes that faded out from Glint and into Worthless Animal I think it would have been more well-received.  But the silence makes it stand out in an unartistic way for me.

Seeing them on Saturday.  So excite.  This album is absolutely incredible, it gets better every time.  I really think "Honeycomb" might be the best song they've ever written.  I just can't get enough.

Group buy members:  I'll have final price notices sent out in the next few days!  All of your copies are secured, I just haven't gotten an invoice yet from the label to reconcile my initial calculations.  I wanna give them some time to breathe and collect themselves after that crazy response they had yesterday.  Stay tuned!

Yeah dude.  This label is not a fucking joke haha.  Their products are like drugs; people go crazy for them.  As they should!  This is why I do group-buys also....  because everything they release WILL sell out.

Group buy members:  we're still tying up some loose ends, but I will have final price notices out to you guys within a few days at most.  I haven't received an invoice yet, I want to give the label some time to tackle things on their end, but we all have our copies secured so we're all good.  Thank you all again!

Elusive Sound proudly presents “New Dark Age“, the long-awaited debut album from American post-rock/post-metal trio Glasir.
Recorded and mixed by Sam Striker at Native Darkness Productions and mastered by Randy Cordner at Beast Mansion, “New Dark Age” is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2015 EP “Unborn”, the very first Elusive Sound release. This incredible 3-piece from Dallas, Texas, have crafted a powerfully evocative album where their heavy siege cannon is unleashed and blasts us into a blackened world, where sound resonates in decayed city shells and life submerges in stagnant pools of death. We are one with the shadows hidden midst the smoke hung in a haze that ascends hollow towering walls of steel. It obscures a blood red sun we cannot see yet feel it’s oppressive heat searing down like the breath of hell. This is our tomorrow, a new dark age.

Featuring full artwork by Alex CF, “New Dark Age” will be released by Elusive Sound digitally on August 31 and on vinyl at a date yet to be announced.

Full album out now, available for download and streaming:  https://glasir.bandcamp.com/album/new-dark-age

Vinyl TBD, but keep an eye here for group-buy information.  I will be conducting the Deluxe group-buy from Elusive themselves, and A Thousand Arms will be getting the non-deluxe variants for USA residents.  You can always get a non-deluxe in the group-buy from me to guarantee a copy.  As with all Elusive Sound releases, this will sell out, and it will be incredible.

    Stay tuned!

They were supposed to record their Yes I Am anniversary show but I don't remember hearing anything about that.  These guys are one of the best bands to see live, either way.  I'll never forget the first time I heard "Vultures", I fucking cried.  That chorus is so much more powerful live than on record.  Post-rock is so crazy like that sometimes.

I still think this album is incredible, and the more I see the live studio videos, the more I'm convinced this album is better than Sunbather.

Deafheaven has finally arrived.  Sunbather is still much more important, and will never be topped in terms of impact, but man, this album is so good.

That was my exact thought the first listen because it's literally just one theme the entire song, but when you listen again, it becomes more potent, and you notice some little variations at key moments that give it a good kick.  I like it.

This sounds like classic Mono without all of the strings and I will happily eat that shit up until I die.  One Step More is my favorite album and this reminds me of that, so I am very happy.

EDIT:   Also, those Pelagic variants are gorgeous but no thanks on that price...  $44.17ppd with uninsured shipping.  Also, you all should know that if you DO get insured shipping, in order to receive a claim for a damaged record you have to surrender the record to the USPS who then determines whether they can sell the record to recover the monetary loss.  You aren't guaranteed to keep the item.  This happened with my Faltre record.  If it's super limited, you likely won't get another from the label and it's totally 50/50 whether the USPS will decide if they can sell your damaged record at auction somewhere to recoup their payment out to you.  Even if you insure it with a foreign carrier, it is the USPS who pays the claim.
