I need some advice regarding cleaning my vinyl. I have a pretty good DIY solution down (distilled water, 91% isopropyl alc., drops of pure dish soap, drops of rinse aid). My problem must be the cloth I use to dry it, after cleaning. After I clean the record, and dry it with my microfiber towel (the kind you use to detail cars) it’s like there’s MORE dust than before! The needle picks up globs of debris during the first play through post-cleaning. So much that it sometimes causes skipping. I have to constantly brush off the debris from the needle. After that first play through, the record seems fine. No more dust globs. Because it all gets picked up by the needle after I play it once or twice. So I guess it could be the cloth leaving debris on the record during cleaning? They’re clean towels, but obviously they’re shedding microscopically. Any recommendations on better cloths to use? I’ve heard a fresh cotton shirt works, haven’t tried it yet.

Does anyone own this? I'm in love with the colors and overall look of this release, but I've heard a handful of negative things about the pressing. Noisy, popping sounds, etc. Worth a shot? Or is it crap?

Saw them live over a year ago opening for Alcest, of all things. Never thought I'd see that lineup! They played at least one song from Christs, Redeemers and at least one from All The Waters... from what I could tell. No drums, I THINK Chip had a guitar, but it was just 3 of them at their noise-boards, and a projector/screen on the stage. REALLY loud, bass was insane. Really enjoyed it.

I've had an Audio Technica AT-LP120 for a few years now. Yesterday I went to pop-up the white target light while dropping the needle, and it flickered on and off, and won't turn on now. I'm assuming it shorted/burnt out. Has anyone replaced a target light before? I found the little light online for a few dollars, but I've got no clue how to replace it. There is a shop near me that would probably be able to do it, but is it possible to do it myself without much effort?

It was the obvious choice, glad I snagged one!

Still no word on this reissue even coming out from any sources other than this pre-order. I wonder what's going on here.

Good news, someone at Merchtable actually got back to me about the damaged sleeve. I should have a replacement in the mail soon. I wasn't expecting that, after hearing about this happening in the past.

Old thread... yeah. But did anyone pick this up? I did, and the gold vinyl looks very cool. However, this pressing is absolutely terrible. I, along with many customers, have received more than one warped or otherwise defective copy of this. I got 2 from Amazon, first one being warped AND sounded MAJORLY distorted. Second one isn't terribly distorted, but warped. I'm keeping the second one, don't feel like going back and forth. It plays, but it's not pretty. Cannot believe a major record label, Geffin Records, could allow this to remain for sale when 9 out of 10 seem to be defective. Love this film, love the music, but they really butchered this pressing, a cult classic... sad. Just wondering if anyone shares this experience.

Well that's shitty... hate to have a damaged item due to unsafe packing. I want my stuff to look nice - I payed full price for a new product, not a damaged one. Guessing I won't get a replacement. Probably won't order from them again if I can help it... silly.

I got Four Phantoms on clear DLP for christmas this year. Love it! Unfortunately, Profound Lore shipped the LP's in between the gatefold instead of behind or inside it so it arrived with a nasty large seam split through the side of the gatefold. Emailed Profound Lore through their main site, and their merchtable site which is where the LP came from, hoping to get a replacement gatefold. No answer yet, it's been over a week. Kinda bummed.

Just sent Relapse an email about it. Everything should be fine, I hope. Because I ordered these within an hour of them being released. Just strange not getting a confirmation from them. EDIT: The email was sent to my spam folder... for some reason lol. Whew.

All I got was an email from PayPal confirming my payment, but no email from Relapse with my order info yet. Is this normal?

The microfiber I use is more of a small towel than a cloth. It's not like the things you use to clean eyeglasses or electronics. The vinyl always comes totally dry after a minute or so of drying it off with that. It may also help to have a small fan/hairdryer to go over the album as it becomes dry alternating with the cloth. Certainly playing a wet record would probably cause issues later!
