  1. Wow I'm really surprised people hate this album this much. I actually got pretty into this album, particularly all the lore surrounding the artwork. A guy named Alex Pardee made the album cover "Chadam". There was a bunch of short stories that got released on MySpace (ha) and he even got a deal from WB to make a series of 3D animated videos around the character. Looking back they weren't that great, but it got me to the career I'm at today.
  2. Nope. Just /500 copies of each, that may or may not get pressed again. I started listening back to these to determine if I HAD to have them. Gotta say, II is definitely my favorite, I and III are alright. I wouldn't be upset if I don't get them.
  3. In all honesty, he might be able to pull it off this year. I don't know what happened in 2014 & 2016, but it's obviously money related, since almost all of the good bands on the label left around that time. However, from his social media and things like that, it seems like he's got his feet back under him and will most likely release around 10 records next year. If you like the sound of the bands he's putting out now, then maybe. He's got a few bands that are alright and slightly tolerable: Julia Louise -> replacement Allison Weiss Slow Bloom -> Hybrid of screamo and punk bands past, new EP is with Dog Knights records as was the Departures album. Muskets -> Decent pop-punk band DEATH OF A NATION -> MO Defeater and Verse. Everything Jay touches is good and I'm kinda behind that release. PINE -> Decent again. Spacey sounds kinda done before. Able Baker Fox ->Interesting mix of everything from Melodic Hardcore to punk. I'd say it's the only other album I enjoyed from NSR last year. That said, he needs to clearly state how many releases are in the "Record Club" because in one of his instagram post he claims it's a $225 value. Yikes. I'm going to guess that means 12 releases at a $14 price tag with $4 shipping.
  4. How fast do you think these will sell out? I really want I and II but was really trying not to spend money before the holidays, especially since Alchemy Index reissue is happening now too.
  5. Yeah I pray this doesn’t come before the holidays. Not only am I trying to save for gifts, but I’m also saving for my wedding and Gotta fix my car. The perfect storm right there.
  6. Amen basically. I would have totally combined this picture disc with the silkscreen. Although I do need the other "Sky is Falling" picture disc and given that those aren't sold out, I'll wait a bit. I was trying to save for christmas presents for others but dang.
  7. Doppppe. The first album was pretty good. I might have to wait on this one, I like the change to a bassier pop song given that's what he plays in State Champs, but not sure if I want a whole album of that.
  8. C'mon team! We can make it to 100 pages if we just keep trying.
  9. ... Instagram is stupid. I saw the announcement for this 5 days later and I haven't been checking here cause I'm broke (but would have bought this). I'll probably try to find it at other stores like Bullmoose or Amoeba. EDIT: Also: screw flippers. I see two for $65+ on eBay right now.
  10. I'm just waiting to see if this thread will reach 100 pages before the "Very Limited" edition ships.
  11. Saw the 2018 Record Club thing. I guess he's trying to ramp back up? Also: I was pretty happy at the last round of eBay bids he put up. I managed to get a Mixtapes/Broadway Calls Fest 7" for $9 and the Aficionado "Empty" TP 7" for $10, so not bad. Actually my first test press and completes that band for me.
  12. Eh.... have you ever noticed the "Data Quality" graph on the bottom left of a bands page? That image is from August Burns Red's band page on Discogs. Apparently none of it should be trusted. The reason I say the rules should be slightly looser at the beginning is because technically what's supposed to happen is once all the information is in, then the group of owners or fans is supposed to hold a vote to confirm the information is complete and accurate. But that part never really happens. Some magic gnome that also happens to be a fan puts up information, we add it, and maybe fix one or two things. We should allow more people to create release pages early on, at the cost of accuracy, because we already have the ability to clean it up and vote later.
  13. I'm just saying that in a digital age, rule 1.1 can easily be rewritten to include the circumstances I outlined above. I.E. as long you can provide a public link to evidence that it exists, then it should be allowed to be added to the site. So for example, if I can link someone instagram page where someone posted a photo, I should be able to say "It exists" and not have it deleted. If some random dude that didn't even buy that variant wants to add it in, he should be allowed to. That's the point of having a community collaborative database, is that it's easy for anyone to contribute.
  14. But what a headache... with websites such as this and instagram, we should be able to just add it if we know it EXISTS, as in, I saw at least one person post that they have it. Now they're going to vote it to stay, which takes a few days, then we have to merge them which takes a while, and let's not neglect the fact that I had to go out of my way to duplicate something that basically already existed minus the photos. It's dumb. I'm all for rules, but there are also times when rules should be stretched a little.
  15. Gotta love Bad Timing, I already got shipping confirmation for this, which means I'll probably get it at least a few days before release. One of the few labels that actually has their schedule under control.
  16. Actually can I start making my first complaint against Discogs. I love it for a lot of things, but there are some people who just want to relive their days as a teachers pet, i.e. they follow the rules way to closely or think they know what the hell they're talking about. Example: Just got in my August Burns Red - Phantom Anthem /700. Went to add it, but it says "This page is marked for deletion-see release history". So I went there. It was put up less than 24 hours ago, someone put on the stock photos. So someone got pissed and disabled those because that's a rule, you can only use the real image. Then some other dude came along knowing everything and said " This release does not exist, it's been delayed for weeks to come. The manufacturing plant has not even pressed these yet." So he marked it for deletion 17 hours ago, 7 hours after it went up. So now someone like me that "has a copy" has to go in, duplicate one that does exist, change everything out that's unique to this release, add the photos etc. Such a pain for someone who's just a little too quick on that delete button.
  17. I like it. One of the first songs I learned to play on drums. It's semi-repetitive yes, but it actually helps a great deal in learning to count beats since there's that long gap and some other super simple rudiments that give it a twinge of nostalgia for me.
  18. To be the only serious answer here: it's called a budget. I have a pretty strict budget of $110 per months. I stick to that intently. If I know a million bands are announcing a pre-order soon that I want, then I won't hit my max in another months. Simple as that. Or you could just make more money.
  19. Has anyone received their copy from Merchnow on this? I ordered this with the STYG record and they didn't ship this record. First time they've actually messed up an order from me.
