and this is why I'll never ship internationally without mandatory tracking again.

***asked to pay as gift because of post count/activeness on the boards, and being international to protect myself as if a claim like this was EVER made. Buyer did not ask for tracking/insurance. It's not my responsibility to provide that on international orders.

Business savvy and planning ahead. Franks ex wife has dealt with that shit for years with Joe Travers. Some people are goood at what they do musically but suck at business, whereas others realize the necessity for those skills in the music world

It's their own damn fault for being idiots and selling the rights in the first place though...

I would never do it to his dad's place. I asked for the kid's address. I honedtly don't think I could destroy anything to be honest, but if I did get his address is probably go talk to him or at least send him a glitter bomb.

I would totally agree. I had Old Ramon on CD way back when, and I just found it was such a relistenable album - I have mixed feelings about much MK stuff post 2005, but Old Ramon has always been a favourite.

So many people seem to hate on that record too, but it always felt like a huge pinnacle to me. I thought it was and still is a master work of great arrangement and wonderful songwriting. It's certainly in my top 3 favorites of his releases for sure

The twist is that they cost about 7-9 each. It's 46 miles from my house(not all highway) and then I gotta ship it to you. So I think $15-$17 is fair seeing as how you can get most of them online shipped to a hot topic for free. The main reason why I'm doing this is to pay for all the records I took first pick on and the fact that I'm just fucking nice(it's called southern hospitality where I'm from) so you can take what you want from it

It's nearly impossible for me to rank Rocky's records, but man oh man The Brag & The Cuss could be # 1. Favorite singer / songwriter of all time.

who needs MORE 'beautiful metaphor driven'? yughk. when i listen to music i wanna hear some unique narrative, detail, reality, opinion, originality, etc. i appreciate music that grows along side me and challenges me as a listener. what if Kozelek was comin' over to your house? you start cookin' him dinner, you bust your ass to make dude some blue crab cakes just cause you wanna make sure he likes the food. then he shows up sulking, and starts gnawing your ear off about girls. you gonna sit there and cry with him at the dinner table? HELL NO! dude, he's an old fuckin' man! i don't wanna hear that shit anymore! i'd kick that fool outta my house! i value his complaints, gripes and even his gossip infinitely more. it makes him truthful, textural and gives him dynamics -- coincidentally i feel the same about his last two records musically. that's something, as a post-19-year-old, i can get behind.

also, all this 'ah, he half-assed it,' and 'he probably wrote it in a week'. are you fucking insane? YOU write something this good in a week, ya flippin' joker!

someone made a good point about Benji being the point of polarization. i think that's right on the money; these last two records challenge the listener wayyy more than any of his past work. he takes way more risks(successfully in my view), his influences are way less obvious and therefore it's way less contrived to my ears. Benji and now Universal are easily my favorites to date. both are completely unique listening experiences. doesn't mean i don't like the old stuff. i just don't think they compare. it's hard think of another artist that's progressed this much at this age; not usually how it works.

we're currently living through the dividing line and that is very exciting to me. i love that people don't understand how fuckin' incredible his new records are and i genuinely look forward to someone trashing what i just wrote.
