Third vote's a charm; This was my no-brainer pick from last night, too, before we had a tie-breaker on our hands. I gave it additional thought today - just to be safe - and decided that I'm quite comfortable with the choice. Clarity would be a solid second choice. I'm not smitten for Jimmy Eat World, but that album is unfuckwithable.

It's funny; I feel like 9 of 10 Radiohead fans will firmly insist that OK Computer is the band's crown-jewel. I'm more partial to In Rainbows... but for what it's worth, I had zero exposure to the band prior to 2005 or so. And I agree with your sentiments on The White Album.

UPDATE Just gave the aforementioned Hot Topic a call. Things were sounding good for a moment, when I specified which album I was looking for. The gentleman on the other end said something along the lines of "Oh, yeah. I just saw that one. Let me check." After a minute or two he returned, and told me that they were all out. If it's any consolation, the dude said "But we should be getting more in -- it sold really well." (I'm assuming he's unfamiliar with the specifics of limited presses, etc.) Sorry guys.

@ Logan: I've heard nothing but great things about coconut water, but have yet to try it. I may have to change that today. I've been told that the flavor requires some "getting used to". @ Deafening: a week you say? Sounds pretty intense. I'm used to bouncing back from these fevers after 48 hours or so... but whatever this is, it really put me through the ringer last night. I'm kind of hoping the worst of it is behind me, but perhaps that's just me being optimistic. Either way, thank you.

I don't about the rest of you guys, but over here there are a series of bugs and flus going around. Despite my best efforts, I somehow snagged one yesterday. I haven't felt this shitty in a long time. It went into full swing last night, with some full body shivers in spite of burning up under my sheets. I don't know what happened for the past 12 hours, but it wasn't sleep. There were some straight-up bizarre, confusing, out-of-body moments in the early hours of this morning. Anyone have any tips for beating a head cold? I'm not vomiting over here (yet?) but I do feel like death. Probably going to opt for Netflix, slippers, and Gatorade instead of work today.

It certainly would, I think, but the only downside is that it'd be more work on your end to tally the votes and update them dynamically. It's just food for thought, honestly. I think the thread will work either way.

Band doesn't get enough credit. Really nice. No Intuit from Romona Falls, though? I don't know about that, but that album is worlds beyond Prophet in my books. Either way, keep it up.

I think I'm committing to this thing, even if it's just three or four of us contributing. Also. Are members allowed to vote for albums already posted, regardless of the day? Like if someone didn't see this until Wednesday night, when the letter C rolls out... could they cast a vote for "nominations" for A and B? It goes without saying that they wouldn't get to nominate their own record if they missed the 48 hour window, but over time it could be interesting to see how the votes shift things around.

Haven't forgotten about that Cursed reissue or the New Lows. Those and this 7" are what I'm most amped about at the moment. I doubt they'd all go up at once, but it'd be great to bundle them together somehow.

I personally don't view the S/T/W board enough to weigh to notice a flood of bump-posts, but I do think the idea is a fair one. Ry is right, though -- it's impractical to expect any new rules or guidelines to be implemented, let alone enforced.

PM'd. Being as limited as their vinyl stock is, I can't imagine my store having too many copies. I've got two spoken for, with the priority going to parkinglot. I'll bump the thread if there's more to go around.

Agreed. The only issue I see with that is the moderator / admin having to remember to manually unlock the thread after the set amount of time. Unless there's a way to set a time sensitive lock on a thread, I'm not sure.

You've got dibs. I actually haven't set foot in the place for a couple of years now. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to call and confirm the quantities and price. I'll give them a ring tomorrow and see if it's even worth getting excited over. I'll also ask about Siren Song if you'd like one.
