  1. Naysayers and skeptics, bite your tongue. I just received a shipping confirmation for one of my three orders. We'll see just how much shows up, even though I was charged the full amount for all my orders. Never say never.
  2. I'm about to pull the trigger on a group buy, probably within the next day or two. Last chance; if any fellow U.S. residents want this for $21 PPD, please drop me a line. Thanks.
  3. I wonder if that "free shipping with $25+" was a limited-time offer. When I placed my first order, they were offering it (sans code) for new customers. So I signed up and qualified instantly. My other orders required a $35 minimum, though.
  4. I can definitely see that perspective of things. A few of the items I purchased had price-tags that seemed too good to be true. I'd consider myself quite lucky if they show up, but I certainly wouldn't feel robbed if they fell through. At this point I'm just waiting patiently for an update sometime this week. Hopefully. [edit] I suppose that second wave of clearance items (the big "weekend sale") is postponed?
  5. The much-hyped repress of Brand New's The Devil & God Are Raging Inside Me features a very similarly styled label-sticker, smacked directly on the front of the jacket. It's proven to be extremely difficult to remove, for the vast majority of those who have attempted. The stark white label has been an ongoing joke for a while now, and induced many-a-complaints, tears, Photoshop jokes, and Shaq gifs. That's basically it.
  6. A cursory glance at eBay would reveal that "people will pay" close to $400 for Deja. Under your logic, SRC could set a $300+ price-tag on a repress of Deja and no one would be in a position to complain. Do you even proofread some of the shit you type?
  7. New guys have to start somewhere, and I've certainly seen worse first-posts. I'm giving the kid a break on this one. As it's been said; don't get the vinyl itself signed. Opt for the jacket.
  8. My Sound Stage Direct order took less than a week, no question about it. And I know some folks received their copies a few days before me, too.
  9. I've been checking this thread multiple times through the afternoon, for this reason alone. Not seeing anything yet.
  10. Even though that post was tl;dr for you, let it be known that it wasn't directed at you specifically. It was more for anyone throwing a fit over a decrease in the record's rarity. I also want to clarify that I have no horse in this race. I didn't pre-order; I didn't miss the pre-order. I won't be ordering. Hell, I don't even listen to Ty Segall, personally. But I still felt obliged to weigh in.
  11. I don't think he was necessarily looking to learn you a lesson. I think, as you just said, that he was voicing his opinion. And his opinion happens to be that there's a ton of whining and crybaby bullshit in this thread. And honestly? - he's not wrong. Anyone who feels "cheated" by a label that steps up to make a limited release more accessible... needs to reevaluate why they're buying vinyl to begin with. While I agree that it's a little sketchy for a label to insist that a press will be super limited - when they know damn well that it won't be - I can't see too many downsides. More people will have the opportunity to enjoy more good music. What's wrong with that? The folks getting bent out of shape are probably the same entitled, snot-nosed brats who flaunted their holographic Pokemon cards in middle school. People are allowed to enjoy and own the same materialistic things that you do. Get the hell over it. Chastising the label changes nothing; if you're truly distraught that they'd keep a record in press (and meet an obvious demand), don't support them. Clearly plenty of other people will. This is just, like, my opinion... man.
  12. I'm sticking to it. Rarity (and indirectly, value) may waver the interest in "owning" (read: obtaining) a record. But as far as the music itself? [ / ∞ ] Eh, I think this album is kind of cool. I guess. I could see myself maybe enjoying it on occasion. [ / 100 ] Holy shit this is fantastic. Wow very original, much impressed.
  13. So are all of this thread's questions going to pertain to finances, or...?
  14. Gotcha'. I must've looked right over that. But either way; my feelings on the record and project are the same, regardless of whether copies are scarce or bountiful. Rarity shouldn't change the level of interest in the music.
  15. When there was allegedly 800 copies up for grabs, I thought this record was a cool concept, but not one I'd ever listen to. And now that copies have become difficult to obtain, I think this record is a cool concept, but not one I'd ever listen to.
  16. Sapst nailed it. I can't say I care when the record show up; I'm just itching to know if they're going to arrive. Obviously "freaking out" isn't going to accomplish anything, but that doesn't mean we can't inquire or wonder aloud? I dropped ~$130 on LPs... some for myself, and some for Christmas gifts for loved ones. I think I'm entitled to be a little curious on whether or not I'll actually receive the product I paid for.
