  1. I'm hardly in the Blink market, but I just wanted to tip my hat to Travis for keeping all these albums in print. I also think the consistent variant theme is cool as hell.
  2. #54 showed up today. No complaints. That red is a beaut.
  3. My precise sentiments when I saw the thread on my phone, this afternoon. Figured there'd be a few pages of sale items, and that I'd maybe pick up a couple of clearanced records, at most. Then I got home and actually explored the link.
  4. But really. The collective whining from these two threads (as justified or as unjustified as you may personally see fit) has been pretty overwhelming. I'm glad that people are getting their hands on some highly sought-after records... but at what cost?
  5. No one's hating on the genres. Mr. Sasan just seems to think that the boards listen to shitty drone and ambient, as a whole.
  6. (But to be fair, I did score a handful of LPs for friends, for Christmas. Who said you have to wait until Black Friday for killer deals?)
  7. I was doing a damn fine job on watching my vinyl budget for the last few weeks. After spending an hour going through all 110+ pages of sale vinyl, and subsequently viewing my checking account... this about sums it up --
  8. Twice as much wax, gatefold jacket, full color 11" x 11" booklet, 45 RPM... and still cheaper. Sounds about right.
  9. Nostalgia makes this a little tempting, but that price-tag is just lol. Were the rights to press this really that expensive?
  10. That's the beauty of music and its subjectivity, to be sure. I'm just especially interested in hearing some drone comparisons since it's never really discussed on the boards. Now, if we were comparing pop-punk and post-hardcore bands...
  11. I totally understand where you're coming from. There are far too many post-rock bands that sound alike, and many of them fall in the wake of EITS. I really feel as if Caspian's earlier work is the only material of theirs that shares any resemblance with Explosions. Their 2012 album, Waking Season, has little (or zero) of your "typical" / shimmery tremolo / cookie-cutter / (yawn) post-rock moments. Check out [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qe5Pkd9BaEA]this performance[/i] of the second track, Procellous. Song is massive, and builds from an ethereal intro that wouldn't be out of place on a BOC record. I find them to be far, far more dynamic than EITS, and a lot of bands - new and old - in the genre.
  12. That jacket design turned out great, from the looks of it. Everything about the packaging on New Sentimentality appears to be top notch -- I can easily see why it was just a smidgen more expensive than the rest.
  13. Please enlighten me on what kind of shit-drone VC listens to. I'm genuinely interested.
  14. Good man. Scoop up that No Heroes and AWLWLB when you get the funds, too. I think it'd be awesome to tackle their discography chronologically, as a new listener, and hear the progression over the last 12 years.
  15. Yeah, this is a really strong contender for the craziest arrival I've seen. Condolences for your loss, but I still would've loved to see what kind of a struggle that postman must've put into that.
  16. Haha. Well, I mean, they're certainly not as engaging as the brilliant Blink-182 or La Dispute.
