After having a noisy experience with sides B and D on the first spin (after cleaning), I played it again today (with another quick clean) and didn't detect the same noisiness. Perhaps these were just really dirty, I don't know. Maybe I was paranoid the first time after reading some comments before my first spin. Anyway, I think I'm happy now.

Awesome score man!  Seriously one of my favorite albums ever.  I remember when I got it for Christmas soon after I started collecting.

YES! So shocked and pleased to stumble upon this in the recent arrivals bin today at a local shop. There are very few for sale online, none in the US, and it was cheaper than any of them even before adding shipping from Europe.

Looks like folks pre-ordering from In the Read have already received their LPs this week. According to Midheaven, where I pre-ordered, all formats release July 1st but vinyl is July 15th. Hopefully they'll ship sooner, but as of now it does not show as shipped.

I don't think I own anything from Third Man yet but it sounds like these color variants may end up difficult to score. I'm tempted to just pick up black ones now that they are out.

Same with mine, which doesn't match with any of the versions on Discogs. But mine is noisy on sides A and D.
 
There just doesn't seem to be much consistency with what version sounds good and what doesn't.

Exact same scenario for me.
 
I played the second disc today, giving it a quick clean first. Side C sounded great, while side D had a ton of surface noise - really unbelievable. I'm gonna have to listen to the MP3s again to compare. Just didn't sound right at all. So sides A and D were noisy to me, B and C sounding good.
 
Also went by one of my favorite local shops today and they had a ton of white copies. Kinda pissed at myself for buying one on eBay for $40 before the weekend. 

Is there any recourse for those of us with noisy pressings? I suppose if there's enough of a stink generated globally, there's a chance. But I'm not holding my breath. 
 
I got mine from an eBay seller but even if I'd bought it locally, I probably wouldn't try to return/exchange it at the shop as it's not their fault.

For anyone looking for a copy of the white vinyl, I might be able to help you.
 
So I bought 3 (giving 1 to a friend, keeping 1 for myself and this is the third) copies of the record and each copy has static noise at the same parts.  Mostly it's the first songs on side b-to d.  They're noticeable but I'm thinking maybe with cleaning it might get rid of those sounds? Who knows? I don't have anything to clean records with atm.  There are some crease bends on the side of the vinyl sleeve but that's really about it.

The last month or so has become a little expensive between online orders (Radiohead, Norma Jean, Avalanches) and serendipitous finds in local stores. 
Real Groovy in Auckland got an OP copy of Frances the Mute in on a trade. I have never seen a copy in store in Auckland, so I went and checked it out and ended up bringing it home. Not a cheap, but a fair price. 

 

In Rainbows was on every media outlet for its release model and TKOL had thousands of dudes launching conspiracy theories about a sequel album.  The last few weeks since its dropped have been pretty quiet compared to how I remember the IR and KOL days.

$36.99CAD+tax at Sonic Boom, which is about $32USD which isn't bad considering we usually have some form of markup up here. 
Also, received the phamplet and signed up for a draw to win one of the figurines from the Burn the Witch music video. Pretty neat.
