bridley reacted to thepunkguy in Limited to One Record shop, NYC
listen, I am going to say this once .
we are pricing everything in the store at the lowest possible discogs pricing
and anyone who knows me, knows that this isn't about making an extra ten bucks
or something, off of some new hard to find LP.
I have traveled to EU and Asia getting a lot of these records and have been (and still)
busting my ass and putting myself in debt to make this a reality.
if you don't like the idea, don't come. simple as that.
I know a lot of people who'd like the chance to see and check out the condition of an LP before buying it.
and I know a lot of people would like a shop that focuses on contemporary music and not a lot
of dollar bins and stuff you can buy online.
once again, if you dont have something nice to say. ..

Hey man, thanks! This was a big deal to find today - just had a shitty morning cleaning up a leak and pulling apart my AC unit to deal with the source of the problem. Searched Fred's name here to see if anyone was selling the early bird and found this post. I can finally stop streaming the album on Youtube, while I wait to buy the LP.
You're my hero for the weekend, thank you.

bridley got a reaction from danyc in Post a PIC Of Your Collection (Band or Label ONLY)
Complete this collection yesterday. The artist is Hayden, a Canadian mopey folky indie singer/songwriter from Toronto who has flown under the radar for nearly his entire career (seemingly by choice). I'm torn between thinking he has never received the attention he has deserved and thinking he's gotten exactly the attention he has wanted. Everything by the last three LPs are OOP.
Each album title is a link to a great jam from each album (albums with multiple pressings feature different songs in each link)
The big ones:
Everything I Long For - Original press - 1996
Everything I Long For - 20th anniversary reissue on white (1000) - 2016
Everything I Long For - 20th anniversary reissue on teal (500) - 2016
Moving Careful 10" - 1996
The Closer I Get (500) - First vinyl pressing for RSD 2014
Skyscraper National Park - Original press - 2001
Skyscraper National Park - Repress on clear (500) - 2013 (Supposed to be hand numbered, but I bought it off a friend of Hayden's who run's a record shop, and it's apparently an extra from the run so is un-numbered).
Elk Lake Serenade - 2004 (somehow bought this in 2015 from discogs, sealed, for $17CAD)
In Field & Town - 2008 (After a bunch of digging and googling, I found a US online retailer in 2015 that still had sealed copies in stock and got two copies for $11USD. Pleased)
The Place Where We Used To Live - 2009
Us Alone - 2013
Hey Love - 2015
The little ones:
Mild and Hazy - 1996. I have two copies., one has a matte glued sleeve while the other has a glossy folded sleeve. I don't believe they are two distinct pressings, but when I saw one was different than what I had I bought it anyway, just because.
Lunar Landing Confirmed - 1996. A split with Poledo.
Carry on Mentality - 1997. The newest addition and currently my favourite two Hayden songs. Took forever to find this at a reasonable price and luckily someone a few hours away posted it on the 'bay last week and no one else felt like bidding on it.
Nowhere We Cannot Go - 2015. All the sleeves are handmade from maps of around the country, no idea about pressing numbers .

Although Follow The Leader had the bigger hits, I feel like Issues was a better overall album

Surprised this hadn't been posted yet... Noyes Records out of Truro, Nova Scotia has just issued the first vinyl pressing of The Holy Shroud's 2005 album Ghost Repeaters. 300 pressed on white, apparently 1/3 already sold when I found out it was live on the 6th of June.
Great album, great band, woo!

Honestly never thought I would get to this point with Saves The Day, since I assumed I would never own I'm Sorry, I'm Leaving; but a local store recently got a copy and I recently sold my second copy of a white Through Being Cool for nearly as much as they were asking for it. So it just made sense.
LP's:
Can't Slow Down - 2nd press., red (500)
Through Being Cool - 2nd press, white (500) & original Black (3rd press /?)
Stay What You Are - 2nd pressing, black (?) & 3rd pressing grey-mix (?)
In Reverie - 1st press, black (?)
Sound The Alarm - 1st pressing, red and white (70) & 1st pressing, blue and white (70)
Under The Boards - 1st pressing, white and blue (70)
Daybreak - 1st pressing, white (500)
Saves The Day - 2nd pressing, white (1000)
7":
I'm Sorry, I'm Leaving - white (395)
At Your Funeral - black (?)
Freakish - black (?)
Anywhere With You - orange (?) & white (?)
Four Way Tour Split - green (300)
The Tide Of Our Times/Everlasting Everything - 1st press, white (1000)

One could argue that trading any type of legal tender (even a single penny) for the Space Jam soundtrack is a rip off.

Hey man, I sure do appreciate this! 50 CAD probably equates into about $36 which is pretty decent! Unfortunately, I don't have a Facebook so I wouldn't be able to contact them

I wonder if Rotate sells any... They sell them in bulk... June Records guys are way knowledgable about those things. Kops, too.
Seen any Cracked Actors anywhere? I should go looking tomorrow.

I haven't asked Rotate or Kops, but I buy all my inner sleeves from June (cheapest price I can find for MoFi). I buy all my resealable outer sleeves from Sonic Boom and I don't think they have boxset sleeves listed on their little sleeve menu on the counter downstairs - so I'll stop by Rotate or Kops and ask next time I'm in those areas, thanks for the suggestion.
I only stopped in to Dead Dog yesterday for 2 minutes to grab the boxset and didn't look around. Haven't been in any other stores since before RSD. Sorry.

Well you guys, it happened. Looked on Instagram one last time before giving the guy $235 for his wedding and low and behold Streetlight Records in Santa Cruz posted about it. Called them up and they're shipping it to me. I'll have my very own copy of Before the Flood signed by Trent and the boys!!!! $124.99 +shipping!!!

To conclude my story: I gave up the #1 spot, went home and slept, ordered the one 7" I wanted, played Zelda with my kid and am now going to Home Depot for wood to build fossil hunting sieves so we can go shark tooth hunting tomorrow.
Big win.

Some harsh things have been said in this thread but calling me a "Comedian" in quotation marks like that really cuts deep

Okay well you'd probably know if you read the rest of the thread and watched the whole video but it was made as a joke, to be funny. And also to try and wind up people who are really serious about collecting vinyl's
