Bingo. In order to carve out a corner of the online marketplace, you need to either have a lot of money upfront and/or inventory flow OR find a niche market for yourself like experimedia, mount analog, two headed dog, etc. They aren't getting rich either, but they are, in large, able to compete with Bullmoose, Amazon, and the like by carrying very specific types of music. They have relationships with niche labels and distributors. Get shipping breaks by importing in relative bulk. That sort of thing. They hustle a lot, but it works and they have really loyal followings. The one thing none of those stores, or any others of a similar ilk, are attempting to do is sell Wilco, Bowie, and Taylor Swift. That just generally does not work. Unless you've got some white hot stampers on your hands.

Originals sound good. 2015 repress had mixed reviews. -

It would be cool if WW sourced some unreleased music for this release, but I'm honestly not sure how much, if any, extra music there is to be had. -

I wonder if this is the LoDuca re-recording they've been talking about for a couple of years now. -

The rest of the Anti represses have been great. -

Well, only one (Closing Time) has been released so far and only a handful of reports have come back, but, yeah, they haven't been great. That said, the Rhino pressings did get fixed after a fashion so perhaps these will get squared away in similar fashion. Or sooner. Also, the Anti catalog reissues from last year have all been quite good so there's room for optimism. -

Early returns are that Closing Time has several issues. Hope it gets straightened out before Heart of Saturday Night drops. -
All these things you are saying are accurate, but the risk can be greatly reduced, if not nearly eliminated altogether, by reading reviews on sites like Discogs and the aforementioned Steve Hoffman forums. Sometimes VC has the answers that I need, but, other times, Hoffman has a fifty three page thread on what is the best pressing of Steely Dan's Can't Buy a Thrill.

Oooh! Which color do you think it would be? I hope it's blue. Blue's my favorite sounding color. -

It is pricey. Encroaching on (other?) high end jazz reissue label pricing such as Music Matters and the like. My guess is that's exactly where WRJ is trying to position themselves. If the discs and masterings come out right, and they keep releasing in demand yet out of print records, it'll be a pretty fair price in the hi-fi jazz marketplace. I'm teetering, but if I can find them for $35, I'll probably bite. -

A new Malkmus record is always a welcome bit of news. Now if we could only get someone to release his score to Flaked... -

I caved and bought this one, too. Picked up a Friedkin signature from the leftovers sale at Amoeba. It is a very good pressing. The thing that surprised me about it is that unlike some film scores of a similar vintage that WW has released recently, such as Taxi Driver and The Warriors, there aren't any extra cuts or cues and the original pressings are widely available. They seem to have sold this one entirely on the new package design. Which is dope by the way. And so am I for buying it. -

I hope we get something soon from Yussef Dayes new outfit. I've read good things here and there about their shows. -

WRWTFWW Records are completely legitimate. I have most of their releases from the first one on. They've don obscure porn scores, John Carpenter, Yasuakil Shimizu, Midori Takada, all kinds really. Their new Jazz label should be more of the same. Great stuff. -

I thought all of the most recent reissues (KEA, RTL, and MOP) had been mastered by Bellman and BGM. Is that not the case?
