Hey, I hate money, so I decided to reissue this discography LP for the band Dakota/Dakota from Chicago. They broke up 15 years ago. Members went on to form way more famous bands like Russian Circles, Bloodiest, RLYR, Lasers and Fast and Shit, JOB, etc. etc. Instrumental indie/math rock that has since been mutated into the emo revival. Only these guys never bothered with any of the pop punk stuff and just wanked the whole time. So if you like wanky instrumental music, give it a listen. We did it up real nice - random colored vinyl, fancy spot gloss jackets, and even a handful of WAX MAGE vinyl copies. Stream it all here:

This looks rad.  Forge Again is a solid record label and has consistently put out interesting and cool bands.  Will be checking out soon.

Much appreciated! Psssst there's a new Child Bite split LP being recorded in like 10 days. Well, their half. The other half was recorded more than a year ago, and the band has since released another new full length! I guess, to be fair, so did Child Bite.  
 
That show was insanely weird. Shawn had fucked up his hand the night before, and they played at like 1 AM then went straight back to Detroit the same night. But it was good nonetheless. Mortville was neat.

Listened to mine last night, the whole LP is great!  I'll post a pic tonight of the variant I received.

I don't know how I skimmed over this thread for a whole month, but I checked it out based on the FFO Scratch Acid and bought it immediately. Hoping the rest of the LP is as good as the first two tracks but I don't doubt it!

Stuff gets buried on this board pretty quickly so I thought it'd make sense to bump. Glad I did! Will continue to bump if anything interesting happens - we're gonna do a full album stream premiere deal in the next couple of weeks (official release date is 3/31) and they have midwest/east coast tour dates coming up in April as well.

I am putting out a new record by the band SALVATION from Chicago. It is very good. The record turned out very cool. The pre-order is open now and it'll ship in a couple weeks. Blending together elements of noise rock, punk, and grunge, Chicago’s SALVATION has cultivated a rare sound that is injected with strikingly inventive vocals and instrumentation. With their 2017 Forge Again Records nine-song debut LP Sore Loser, SALVATION further refines the sound found on their 2015 Cold Slither Tapes release Royal Fucks. Like their previous effort, Sore Loser was recorded completely live, showcasing the band’s raw fervor and painstaking attention to performance perfection and detail. The vocals are raw and commanding, seeming to simultaneously invoke both aggression and agony. The rhythm section remains the strong, sludgy backbone of the album, driving each song forward as the vocals ebb, flow, and meander throughout. Sore Loser was recorded by Joe Gac at Kildare Studios and mastered by Carl Saff with cover art by Smith Smith. The first pressing of the LP is limited to just 311 (jah bless) copies on random colored vinyl. The picture above is merely a sample of some of the crazy colors in there. They all look and sound great, and we can't guarantee you'll get any particular color, but we'll send the craziest and coolest looking ones out to the earliest orders. I tried to do Fantastic Gusts of Blood on vinyl last year. Band and I were down to just get it out there, Quack wanted it to make them a bunch of money, so it just didn't happen. The only things I could see ever getting released on vinyl would be Gold Thriller and the split CD. Joyful Noise would be down, I'm sure. Could probably even make it into a mini-discography type thing with the three songs from the 7" splits too (since those are mostly out of print).

Bumping this because I'm sure plenty of people missed it. This record rules. These bands rule.
 
We Are Hex is working on a new album that'll come out this summer.
 
Child Bite just put out a 5" record on Housecore Records of them doing Anal Cunt covers with Phil Anselmo on vocals. No joke. Get on that. 

I think the release being out of print is as smooth as it can go, so 100% success!
 
They released the 7"s one at a time. The 4 bands would play a show together every few months and the 7" was free for everyone who came to the show. There was a bit of a lull in the shows towards the end so the last show (which was a few weeks ago) they gave away the last 2 7"s to everyone who was there. They also printed up 100 of the wood boxes (I think there were 250 of each 7") and had those for sale separately as well as any leftover 7"s from the shows. I think they put aside a handful of boxes just for people from out of town and gave people ample notice when it was going on sale. Surprised they lasted 2 hours. Anyhow, cool project. I want to do something similar with Chicago bands for an alt-rock/grunge series. Maybe in 2015.

the time is ripe to capitalize on Paul Walker's death and the 5th wave of ska! 

What's insane is that they haven't managed to shit out a $30 version of THAT THING YOU DO! or JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS, easily the two best song-based soundtracks in the last few decades. 

I will not be happy until every single movie that features Smashmouth "All Star" has a $30 "audiophile" LP soundtrack available for purchase.
