burntwolf got a reaction from jeromium in Melvins - Houdini LP | Stoner Witch LP | Stag 2xLP
actually at the time the PO initially went up it was not stated that they were black. they changed it the next day.

yea that was weak as shit. i ordered from the link in that video then cancelled. and i ended up getting black off SSD w/ 20% code/free shipping.
all of them were noisy as fuck United pressings too. was pretty disappointing.

burntwolf got a reaction from dark knight in Vinyl/Turntables in Movies/TV
so, has anyone else noticed how every other show or movie (or like EVERY one), has a turntable and records in it now? (the last several years).
is there a list somewhere of every movie that has vinyl/turntables featured?
it just seems like i see it now in EVERYTHING...from star trek (reboot)...to...the one i love...to...transcendence...
even that jason staham hitman movie the mechanic had a major plot point around his pro-ject TT blowing up. /spoilers.
i can't think of anymore off the top of my head, but i keep noticing it a ton...
i don't think there was a time when there were such prominence or plot or character points about people putting in an 8 track, cassette, or god forbid a CD. i'm sure there are exceptions. i guess movies w/ boom boxes featured were around a lot in the 80s. (star trek V: save the whales)
EDIT:
Movies/shows mentioned in this thread: Interesting, as I expected, seems like last 5 years has the bulk of the list...

For every one Sleater-Kinney, there's like at least 20 Pixies.

burntwolf reacted to IanRees in PO: Smoke or Fire - When the Battery Dies (Reissue)
Awesome, i've been a fan since they were Jericho and this is hands down my favorite material of theirs. Would love to see Workers Union get a pressing.
I saw them at Koos Cafe in Santa Ana in like 98 or 99 with Planes Mistaken For Stars and instantly fell in love.

burntwolf got a reaction from Eti Of 1980 in New Groovie Ghoulies LP reissue and New Kepi / Accelerators LP at Eccentric Pop!
so i've got a long wait for 99 lives...

burntwolf reacted to tonyfranciosa in PO: Kurt Cobain - Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings
if "And I Love Her" is the high point of these demos, it's a definite pass for me. the quality of this stuff is scraping the bottom. not everything needs to be released.

burntwolf reacted to DecayToDeath in PO: Kurt Cobain - Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings
Yeah it's an easy pass for me, even if I do like Nirvana.
-
burntwolf reacted to cannonfunk in PO: Kurt Cobain - Montage of Heck: The Home Recordings
It's financial stupidity to spend $30-40 on a compilation of demos that they're obviously going to press tons of copies of.

This stuff is only worth owning as a collectable. Not interested.

burntwolf got a reaction from videogamesandvinyl in WTB: Legend Of Zelda games/strategy guides
I used to work at Prima Games and I wrote a couple strategy guides. I always wondered who actually bought those things.

Burnt Wolf will be reportedly buying 24%-80% fewer Universal records starting January

burntwolf got a reaction from faithnolife in PO: Megadeth - 5 Early Albums
The Capital Vault vinyl reissues were the original mixes. I have Rust in Peace and it sounds good. I am still on the lookout for an OG press to compare it to. I have an OG So Far, So Good but didn't feel the need to get the reissue.

Color doesn't apply here. Pic disc is a whole different ball of wax (pun possibly intended) than normal vinyl. At This point I'd take white over pic disc.

maybe these will also be the remixed versions for extra crapiness...

burntwolf reacted to lexicondevil in Bay Area VC.
Gilman is in the East Bay, not San Francisco. It's fucking annoying when some band comes to town and plays Oakland and says, "What's up San Francisco!" Fuck you.
If there are hipsters over here it's because they are leaking in from the City. People in the East Bay are for real. Just good people enjoying the better weather, plenty of parking, and all the good music. Yes, I am biased.
