I'd have to assume that they pressed a huge quantity of these and will just do a custom covers for the amount sold today with a general release coming soon. Or it could be extra lame and just have a different sticker. But since it is shipping so soon they must have the vinyl ready and to do a 24 hour sale they'd never risk pressing more than they could sell in that day.

There has been both white and blacks sold the past few months on Ebay for $25 and under. So keep an eye out there if anyone really wants this.

Am I alone in thinking this would have been a much more enjoyable release had they just pulled a Mondo/Twin Peaks and done a single cool color in a nice, high quality sleeve?

Completely agree. I sold my green HT set to someone on ebay a couple years back when i got the old press for a decent price. It was to a mother in the UK who was buying it for their 16 year old daughter. She was asking me questions as to whether it was appropriate for her and telling me how she was nervous about her behavior. It was pretty hilarious.

They subtract VAT for orders to the states which is great as it almost offsets the shipping.

The email announcing these said that the silver is exclusive to the Soundgarden shop and udiscovermusic. So don't wait for your local for it.

That is really really shitty and i'll bring it up to them the next time i go in. I know they tend to jack prices up on certain items online and then charge retail for them in stores. But for them to have it listed at one price online and then jack it up after you ask about it makes no business sense. Why piss off a new customer? Anyhow fuck them, I'd say your best bet would be to contact turntable lab and see if their copies are plain blue or the marble promo. They have 15 according to their amazon listing. I don't recall Bullmoose having any plain blue yesterday so maybe all the new stock was the promos?

They were great until right before they went under. They tried to screw me on a PJ Harvey release that they took preorders for but never actually put out but I managed to get refunded after a lot of effort. They also took a lot of orders for a Jesu album right before they vanished and didn't fulfill them or refund people.

The label already makes their money by selling these for the amount they initially intended to and repressing them as needed. I'm certain they could easily get $ to repress a hot item like this if they didn't have it. At least those clear pressings relapse sells on discogs were never for sale so they don't have a real msrp.
i wasn't trying to start a big debate or anything just stating my personal opinion on my dislikes of labels and retail record stores doing this. Whoever says there are different rules for vinyl vs other businesses sure got that right.

I have this record and also helped point out places that had it still for under $20 last month. I have no real issues with regular people "flipping" for whatever market value is. But when labels do it themselves that just seems really crappy to me. I really don't think that labels and retail stores should be jacking up prices on new hot items. Newbury does crap like this with items they press and it drives me nuts. And didn't someone here say this was getting repressed again soon? If that is true and he knows it that is even worse.

Got my copy from Amazon yesterday. It was filthy but cleaned up easy enough and sounds great. Is there actually a confirmed US version as mine from Amazon US says "made in the EU" on the back with the rest of the artwork?

There are still plenty available direct from TRR for $150.

Before the Netflix show that clear /300 LP was pretty much still at retail value record after 4+ years of being released. Amazing what some publicity can do for a band and their release values.

I don't disagree with your logic at all, but if someone wanted to they could file a claim and you'd be screwed. That is just how paypal works. Thankfully that'd probably only be for $20. Not $200+ like for this 7". So in this case though the seller should have spent the extra $2 for insurance just in case.
