It's #56 of 100 on white vinyl and isn't a 10". It's real. I grew up in Brooklyn and my brother is 15 years older than me. He went to a ton of shows in the mid/late 80's through the 90's until moving to the west coast in 2002.

I was wondering if anyone has traveled far just to get a record?

In May I drove from my place in NY to Peabody MA to the B9 office to pick up a test press. It was incredibly limited so they did not feel safe sending it through the mail so they wanted me to pick it up in person. Round trip was 10 hours.

I probably would have happily done the same thing. I've never driven/ traveled super far for a record, but I probably would. Also, You should have just hung out in Salem. That place looks fun. They have(had) witches.

Nashville for some third man releases. Though, there were reasons to go other than the records. Round trip 16-17 hours.

cephcarn4 reacted to legsilver in Sorry if this has been posted before, questions on how a record is created...
Hey guys, this is my first post here, and I'm sorry if this has been posted before.

So, I've been wondering how a vinyl record, especially a new printing of a record recorded many years ago, is made.  I've been learning about the "lacquer" and the pressing, and the fact that records are hand made.

Now, records are made from copes of a master recording, right?  Sorry for my stupidity.

So, if I were to buy a new copy of Miles Davis' Kind of Blue on Vinyl, would that be a copy of the master recording, or would I be getting a Vinyl pressing of a digital or MP3 file format?

    Thanks,

    Sam

I would find this less pathetic if it was a 14-16 year old learning how to make some extra money while in high school, but a mid 40 year old bragging about buying 2 copies of a record to sell one is just so pathetic

I used to pay for sex, but then I realized if I ran out on the prostitute while she was in the bathroom, I could get a good collection of orgasms for relatively low outlay.
Sure, I figure some day the pimps will catch up with me, but my collection of erections has had a hell of a year!

Your comment is the only stupid one. Clearly you know nothing about when the Rev crews came onto the scene. This dude is 45 years old so clearly he was around for the Minor Threat / Negative Approach / Necros / Agnostic Front days. Even mike judge has said that they came in and were way different then all the older dudes and were way more violent. I have spoken to many who were part of the initial CBGB sunday matinee shows and they all have said bands like judge brought unnecessary violence. So you have absolutely no right insulting someones opinion who was actually their to witness Judge playing in their heyday. You were not even born dude, respect your elders

I bet a majority of the board has absolutely no clue what this record is & if offered a free copy of this or the RSD Deja Entendu they would take Deja in a heartbeat

They should just press so many of these that 10 years from now people will be like "Yeah, I looked through the records at the Goodwill. It was nothing but Barbara Streisand, Englebert Humperdink, and Deja Entendus."
Triple Crown would still make a killing as long as they let their stock slowly trickle out into the market. Motherfuckers would be buying them up like the apocolypse was coming and Brand New records were set to be the post-civilization currency.

Looking forward to the almost-assured Drive Like Jehu show. I hope Riot Fest keeps with their tradition of having bad headliners; it's great to be able to run home and clean up before heading to the after-shows.
