It is the tape. MC = Musicassette

Hospital tapes are usually overpriced. Profound Lore releases are generally reasonably priced.

It is most likely on one 90 minute cassette.

This is by far the best record I picked up today. So many awesome covers! Should we expect a 'Bleach' tribute for next year's RSD?

I like how everyone jumps down this dude's throat about doing this, yet I got soooo much shit for saying it was stupid for Empire! Empire! to do pretty much the same thing...only for $10,000 for a van.
    Carry on.

It's not like their other players are going away. Most people will still opt for the cheaper player and anyone who does have an extra $75-$100 to spend will probably opt for one of the more expensive tie-dye designs or whatever.
Still, I think it's funny that so many people have an opinion on this, as if Crosley is an evil corporation or something. Why do they need to "take a step in the right direction?" It's no secret that a huge piece of vinyl sales are people that buy records and play them on crosley's. Many of those people end up buying something better down the line, but as shitty as the players are, they've gotten a lot of people started who don't have the money for a great player or know enough about what a good player is.
But like I said before, if you're going to spend an extra $100 or whatever on an 'upgraded' toy, there's a wealth of $200 players that would be a better use of the money; so this is ultimately pointless.

Crosley should stick to the urban outfitters and target markets. People buy crosley's because they're cheap, easy to find, and "look like those old vintage record players". If people are turned on by this "upgraded" player, they should just buy a real turntable.

I'll tell you why I think this, and it isn't just "exclusivity" talking.
You only really get to start experiencing childhood around 6. Up to that point, people are pretty much telling you what to do/watch/listen to, etc. You don't get to make choices for yourself and I'd hazard to say many of us have very few memories before the age of 6.
That said, anyone born in '90 or a later year didn't get to experience a full half of the decade. So your brother was born in '90, he really missed out until '96, and was only able to experience 4 years of the 90's tops.  I don't think you can truly be considered a child of any decade that you missed out on over half of.He was 10 in 2000, so he fully experienced the 2000s as a child. He had 6 years of childhood in the early 2000's (8 if you count through 18, but I really count childhood as 6-16.

Obviously this is just an opinion, but I think it is one a lot of people share.  Anyone born early in a decade is always going to be in that weird in between eras spot though, as they get a little bit of both decades as a child. Just seems to me these people actually experienced more of their childhood in the 2000s, and therefore would be considered a child of the 2000s.

You are absolutely right. The quality of the mastering process does make a huge difference.
It does make a difference in the high-end register. Though none of us would ever notice (I honestly don't even care about that stuff too much).
What I was trying to say is that many people seem to think 'digital source=unlistenable' while most of their collections are just that. And it ain't all that important.

Just a heads up: Everyone saying you were born in the 90s...you're not a 90s kid. You're a 2000s kid .
If you were born in the 90s you missed out on a good portion of that decade.

The sound quality has nothing to do with the source being digital or analog. If you are buying a bootleg, there is a good chance it was not properly mastered for vinyl and that makes a huge sound quality difference.

Also do we really think they sat on these records for 5 years just so they could sell them for $15 instead of $7?  Or is more likely they were organizing and found stuff they thought was sold out but they still had a copy or two laying around?

Also if lab grade reagents weren't necessary, no company would create record cleaning solutions. Do you think MoFi buys their solutions at WalMart? Come on...

So, are you basing this all of the Goddamnit reissue from 2008 and then you never checked out anything they did again? Because last I checked, Asian Man stuff comes out on 1, maybe 2 colors at a time, doesn't engage in any of the splatter/swirl/haze garbage, IS TWELVE FUCKING DOLLARS, and contains music that the label owner thinks deserves to be heard. You want to infer that there is even a hint of cynicism to their release strategy, never mind a blind thirst for $$$ comparable to the "specialty markets" division of Universal Media Group? Well that just makes me want to puke on your head, sir. Also, if you're the kind of person who sees 4 variants or whatever and thinks "shit, now I have to buy 4 copies", then I hope you do, and I hope your bad investments in pop punk futures lead you to financial destitution. No sympathy for collector scum, as long as it doesn't distract from the music and I can still pick up a copy at a fair price I say play on.
In a previous comment you brought up Var as a more fitting example of a trü vinyl punx. Asian Man has always stuck in my mind as a very close spiritual cousin of No Idea, with very similar ethics and passion for music above all else. I would guess that AMR would've been happy to keep pressing vinyl too, if they were a bigger operation, and if they'd had a few more Fuel for the Hate Game/Reinventing Axl Rose type releases to bankroll it, but if each new release just added boxes to your garage and took money from your bands' checks, what would you do? It's cool that some labels pressed vinyl even when no one was buying it, but you can't pay rent in punk points, man.

Laughing my fucking ass off at comparing Asian Man to any profit-minded enterprise. Please tell me more about how running a punk label out of your mom's garage for 20 years and pressing records on a new color of vinyl when they sell out is "being guilty of the same shitty tactics" as the multinational conglomerates shitting out live Bowie picture disc singles and goddamned Doors reissues. I'm all fucking ears.

Really?  and how does one "spray salt" exactly?

companies create a product for one reason and one reason only... to make money.  to get people to buy into the product, that could otherwise be made at home for a fraction of the price, they, like you, put dramatic emphasis on just how important it is to use a fancy pants lab-grade solution.  when the reality is that there is no discernible difference between my solution vs. theirs in terms of functionality.

i guess i should just leave this alone.  i don't have a problem with a differing opinion, i just don't like when someone comes into a thread and starts slamming on my way with an attitude like i'm an idiot and then also presumptuously link me to the "Crosley-using newb" group because i make DIY record cleaning solution.  it's just... annoying.

Haha.  no, i don't make my own toothpaste.  i do take short cuts on costs any chance i see to take them if it's reasonable to take a short cut.  i'm a single dad who isn't rich, money is something i have to be conscious about.
