  1. Great username btw. Always loved that UL album!
  2. So tempting, but the exchange rate + shipping makes this a brutal purchase.
  3. Personal life of the artists is a factor, but not the main driving factor for me. I saw him live with Rob Zombie in the early or mid 10s and his performance was definitely lacking. Only time I saw him live after hearing so many great things about his shows in the 90s. Rob Zombie was amazing, seen him twice. I pre-ordered Zombie's latest album, but not Manson's. Let's just put it that way.
  4. Their live shows were always a good experience. Always an overwhelming sense of unity in the crowd. Seen them a handful of times going back to 2001 when they were on a side stage at Warped Tour. We were "woke" before woke was "woke." haha I still agree with a lot of their views. But I do feel like they got soft on the establishment during Obama administration, and I'm more of a "criticize all politicians equally" kind of guy. I really don't like the taste of someone telling me "don't vote for this scumbag" while encouraging me to vote for another scumbag. When I was younger it was easier to buy in to the hype, but in my older years the hypocrisy gets harder to ignore.
  5. There's a good number of vinyl releases with Nintendo music out there though. ShipToShore and RespawnedRecords in particular have quite a few licensed as well as remixed albums. Probably not the best place to start as an independent musician, but it's on the bucket list.
  6. As much as I love me some AVGN, I just want a 7" with the theme song. Sure is a nice colorway though.
  7. Good to hear! I love GD but some of their represses over the years sound more like CDs pressed to vinyl. The Nimrod 2xLP was an improvement so I figured this would be as well. Plus, the orange color makes a lot more sense than the hot topic blue that came out a while back, imo. Looking forward to putting this on the platter.
  8. Valid point. I dig the members of the band as people as well. Met Chris Dos after a show in LA shortly after meeting Stacey Dee of Bad Cop / Bad Cop (this was before they signed to Fat and I had no idea she was even in a band at the time). I told Chris about a time a year or so prior at Warped Tour when he dove into the crowd. I had my hand held up to help catch him if he got close and he end up grabbing my hand coincidentally to steady himself on top of the crowd before he dove back toward the stage. I got to tell him about that and he said jokingly that I probably saved his life. haha Also got to give Pat Thetic a hug after a show when I showed him that I had caught one of his drumsticks. I definitely want the guys to be able to support themselves and keep making music. It's just an odd dynamic during these times when I don't agree with everything that they say as much as I used to. But hey, if I'm going to buy one of their albums and show them support, I'd prefer to do it while supporting one of the older albums I really enjoyed. I used to have the pic disc of this back when I was collecting a lot of their stuff. This one and Underground Network were always my favs.
  9. What's your opinion on remix albums? Zelda & Chill definitely inspired me. Would love to put out an album of remixes for some old SNES or NES soundtracks. Here's one of my remixes if anyone wants to scope it:
  10. interested in following this thread. I've been making some video game remixes and might like to release them on vinyl at some point.
  11. This was one of my fav albums from them for a time period. Haven't bought anything of theirs since The People or The Gun. Lately I can't really get past the hypocrisy of a band making songs called "Anti-Violent" and preaching tolerance while also selling their fans messages of "Kill This" or "Kill That" while pushing hatred and violence towards friends and neighbors with different political opinions. Seems outright irresponsible of them to continue doing so during this hostile political climate. I always loved their passion in their music, and the unity and camaraderie that was part of their shows, but the last few times I saw them it just felt more like shortsighted screaming and tribalism. Perhaps it's an age thing, when I was young I hated Bush and wanted to scream against his politics and hug people in the crowd who were part of my "tribe." But as I grow older, I'm increasingly made to feel like I am viewed as an "enemy" as I start to enter into what some view as "patriarchy" as an older fellow from a specific demographic which is popular to bash on and make assumptions about these days. Also, I fully realize that Anti-Flag have always been hypocrites in their music. So it's not them who have changed, but myself. I'm not buying in to the hypocrisy anymore.
  12. Just gave ya a like and subscribe. Never been much of a VH fan, but enjoyed the video. Looking forward to watching some more stuff on your channel. I started doing some vinyl reviews as an excuse to tell stories. haha. Any new comments or subscribers would be greatly welcomed! https://bit.ly/3hReBv6 NOFX / Frank Turner LP Review https://youtu.be/eYWTkyCk7xs Technicolor LP by Covet https://youtu.be/LCkYt7LkAA0 Waves & New Light by Moving Mountains https://youtu.be/SUxIS6qcyNY Haven't done a new review in a while, but maybe this thread will get me going again. Would love to see some others getting active as well. Let's grow this little sub-community! Thanks for starting this thread. Cheers!
  13. Yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaahhh-ahhhhhhh! Sorry, couldn't help myself. Snagged the webstore version. 🤘
  14. Very relaxing. I've actually gotten into making some ambient music myself recently and started a blog. Never heard of KBD before today, but I've shared a post on my blog with a link to the vinyl. Hope this is ok! https://www.rovvles.com/2021/01/ending-of-all-odds-by-kyle-bobby-dunn.html
  15. Ach! Missed the clear but grabbed the orange. Thanks for posting this!
  16. I can agree with everything stated here. To be clear, my main gripe was towards those immediately blaming USPS. Buyers and sellers alike. I don't work for USPS nor do I intend to die on any hill for them, but as someone who worked in customer service for years and has sold online for many more years, I fully agree that some people are whiny entitled jerks who have little understanding of how things outside of themselves function. It really shouldn't be our jobs to inform such people of basic logistics and human decency, but unfortunately nobody else seems to be stepping up. Also, we all get cranky from time to time and a polite reminder that the world does not revolve around us can be beneficial. That being said, if a buyer bought something from me the night before Christmas Eve, I would probably try my darnedest to either A. ship it the following morning for the reasons outlined above. B. if I knew I would be out of town or couldn't ship right away, I might take my listings down for a brief time period or consider sending any last-minute buyers a message ASAP stating if I would not be able to ship before Christmas. Now if this happens on just about any other day of the year, I would not go to such lengths. But Christmas is one of those times when people get extra touchy regarding package deliveries and USPS gets extra swamped, so it could be in our best interests to be pro-active about things rather than re-active. I've dealt with these types of buyers in the past and this is what I've learned to do in my own dealings. Just my two cents.
  17. Step up your customer service game people. Some buyers are still going to be dense, but a little communication goes a long way. If someone buys something a day before Christmas eve, it doesn't hurt to send a "hey, hope you're not expecting this by tomorrow... because if so, here are some options... (offer expedited shipping at a higher price, refund if the buyer prefers, or maybe the buyer says "no problem"" message. Or realize that people get bent easily this time of year and ship the damn thing out Christmas eve, or remove the listing. It should be a mystery to NO ONE who has sold records during the pandemic that delays were likely to happen during the holidays. Serious sellers should also understand that buyer's get extra sensitive during holidays. Been doing this for 10 years. Some buyers suck, but I'm telling you from experience that most of it can be mitigated through OPEN DIALOGUE and PRO-ACTIVE COMMUNICATION.
