There's plenty of quiet passages on the album too, it'll fit.  It's primarily mastering that makes a record sound great.

I finally picked up Ornette Coleman's Science Fiction which is just divine.  I neglected picking up a copy for years... then saw January 2015 repress.  By ORG Music...ha of course it's them.   Bernie Grundaman mastering and all that (yes it sounds flawless... unless you don't like the freer side of jazz...).
 
Apparently it's limited and all that too.. but it's just really cool that I could buy a repress.

FWIW- the Runaway DVD has awesome sound (like pre-brickwalled to shit mastering).  
Plus he says "what the fuck do I know" in the title song instead of "what the hell to I know".

Someone wake the fuck up and record the audio.  I want to hear the vinyl mix/master.  Fuck.  $40.  All you have to do is plug in your mac or pc and click record.  I'll take care of the rest.

i listen to vinyl for the mastering.  as pointed out many times.... vinyl is not inherently superior to digital formats.
 
on the real..... some official music videos on youtube use audio tracks that are closer to the studio than the retail cd (or even vinyl).
 
that shouldn't be the case.   i have a policy about buying music.... if you don't provide a release with more than 8dB of dynamic range... i can and will pirate your music.
 
if record labels & artists weren't so paranoid, they'd do the right thing and release high-res, non-loudness war, lossless audio files as a download (or creative usb like the Beatles did) for those of us who want to sit down in their home theater, enjoy some digital files that are just great.

Exactly.  I feel the same about the whole HUM situation.  Bands have been complicit in releasing cd-master vinyl, never issuing a decent master, gouging fans, releasing only on picture disc, everything Glassjaw does, reselling de-warped records, etc.
 
And I love Failure, but they can suck it.  At least ORG made an attempt.  You guys had 20 years to release Magnified on LP, get the fuck over it.  Oh and why exactly why isn't Fantastic Planet readily available?  Everyone should be able to hear that.  It should be at the fucking public library.

I'm hoping the cover is a printed sleeve, not the bag of outgassing doom.
