  1. The final sign I'm not meant for this site. The prophecy is fulfilled and I've officially aged out.
  2. Thanks Juan. Will listen. edit: listened. It wasn't full blast but I'm surprised they weren't asked. I had assumed they were with the charity tie-in, it gave me that impression at least. I'm also surprised Total Treble didn't snag that - would have made so much sense.
  3. It's good man. A continuation of what Walk it Off managed with a couple standouts. 5 song 7" isn't shabby either. I have high hopes going forward. (A friend snagged this for me at Fest)
  4. First, Flood owes no one any explanation. If he wants the final word to be the Bosstones so be it. As to the insinuations that there is a parallel to Ross - let's remember that long before Asbestos got into the reissue game it was grinding and continuing to grind out releases for bands that were only developing a following. ETR was told from go by band after band that they didn't approve of what he was doing. This is the first I've heard of anything similar with Asbestos.
  5. I'm not saying it is or isn't. I prefer to hear the entire story and understand when he heard the band wanted to do it themselves. If it was at the plant as described in that tweet then this isn't unreasonable. (I do take exception to changing the artwork - I respect Flood but I recently had a broadcaster attempt to change the opening title of a film I did and it was tooth and nail fighting what they thought was a minor change but we saw as a change that tainted the first impression of the film).
  6. Since this thread might appreciate it. I just inherited two Antioch Arrow LPs, an Angelhair LP, and a DM3/Hope Springs Eternal/Moonraker split 7". Means a lot to hold these but man the packaging alone is art. I love how these labels and bands wanted people to know they touched literally every record they sold.
  7. Just heard the new 7" - it's a continuation if not progression from "Walk it Off". I think it's a stepping stone to a really good new album. I love what I've heard from this band so far and hope for some other-level shit in the future.
  8. A friend just sent me the new Edmonton "No" 7" that has a pre-release at Fest. I think this band has an album coming that will catch on - I love what I'm hearing from the first LP and this 7".
  9. I have to wonder about a few of the numbers listed. For instance, I have a copy of the "Won" TP and know another person with one. They claim only 3 were ever made. Good Prices though.
  10. There is something going unsaid here. Flood is a respectful cat and I know he loves this band. I see where it says they tried to freeze it at the pressing plant. At what point did they ask him to kill this release? How deep in was he already? I can't see this particular guy totally blowing off a bands wishes. Just my read from my personal dealings. I hate to see this happen. I'm not a fan of bands feeling scorned by the repress/sublicense craze but I have a good feeling there is a good bit more to be said here.
  11. OK - I need to still figure out my Santa. That will be my next post but I solved my Flickr issue. My Santa scored well yet again this year. I got a sweet Numero Soul Collection and a classic Lee Fields LP - I've been holding off on buying any LF albums hoping my Santa got my letter. The Legos immediately were coopted by my five-year-old who allowed me to put that Lee Fields album on the turntable - I chilled, he built, it was a good hour. Love local coffee - thank you. Love the mix. Thank you. I need to find time to build those Star metal pieces but I appreciate the extra effort on the tools. Thanks for the early holiday cheer!
  12. Sorry to see that this is the final CB&H release. Looks awesome. I need to pull the trigger...
  13. Despite my better judgement I grabbed for the board: The Cardigans "Long Gone Before Daylight" Heard it was a hassle to get so here it is. $25 + tax + shipping (I paid 24.99 so I get a penny) PM me. First to commit and pay gets it.
  14. Flickr is giving me a hassle. I opened my box today since I was reorganizing my office and figured some new music was a good idea. Santa - I promise to sort it out and say thanks properly soon. -dc
  15. I went back to "Look Now Look Again" today. My Rainer Maria phase is over for now. This is an old friend of mines band. Listen all the way. It is brilliant. Heartbreaking. Beautiful. If you don't know Moonraker I say rip this and be a happier person for it (It is all OOP so ripping to me is alright) https://youtu.be/PM4i1vkCkeE (Note: I can't get it to post embedded. I suck.)
  16. I hear the Boro Bashers are a bunch of Newbs.*** ****Not my words - just what I'm hearing in the chat with the 11 year olds.
  17. There is another emo thread? Should I change the title of this thread to reflect that we are the true believers?
  18. I've been with the same clan for 18 months. We are a good war clan. Serious.
  19. On my fourth straight listen of RM "a better version of me". It's so much better than I remember. It was totally the victim of how special Look Now was in my life. They've been playing out again - I need to make a point of going. I always adored seeing them.
  20. Odds are. I usually go to the after shows, say hey to old friends and go home early. I'm old.
  21. It's pretty terrific. I'm on that Rainer Maria marathon still. To Ronnie - I have never heard The Anniversary album so I'll give it a go.
  22. I'm looking at the Earache sale and am thinking this is a good time to check out Woods of Ypres. If I had to pick an album or two which would you recommend?
