  1. That complacency came back. I started over again. I had a nice time hanging this year gang but I'm done with Endomondo. I track in four places and I'm going down to two. I wish you all a healthy and happy New Year.
  2. Anyone else checking out The Expanse on syfy? Interesting so far but only two episodes in personally. It has a lot of promise.
  3. Well, that uncovered I Hate Myself record is essential so be glad for that.
  4. I'll reveal myself as the Murphy's Law sender. I thought you'd dig it from your list so I'm glad I guessed right. I fell into an old friends collection and promised not to sell anything I already owned but to find those good homes. You fit the bill for ML. I also will let Dom know I sent the Coheed/Dead Kennedy's package. Young man, your homework over break is to rock with Jello Biafra! Merry Christmas gang. -dc
  5. eBay really really really sucks. I still use it because of how many people it reaches but if you sense a headache then the best thing to do is cancel the transaction because odds are good it will in fact be a headache.
  6. So - I messed up about that invoice, bummer. I am however glad you dug the haul. There is a bit of a story: I mailed this to you a while ago but messed up the street number. The Post Office listed it as Delivered and I was pissed that for like three weeks you didn't even acknowledge the package arriving then BAM without notice it arrived back to me. I was so bummed. Happy ending though right? I asked my friend at Blood Music to tell me the one Moonsorrow album that he'd say is must own and he told me this one. I loved the box - totally essential. You like black metal? Then you have to own Strange Brew on some format. Shut Up & Sing and the Jone LP were the clues - I produced Shut Up & Sing and my latest film is about Miss SJ. I don't want to come off as a narcissist but figured since you dug docs that I'd share a bit of my work. Plus that Christmas album is rad and tis the season. Glad you dug it. Let me know if you like Rook - that's the Sumatra roast, my favorite.
  7. I forgot about the fruit. Ha ha ha. I passed on explaining that one because my boy didn't ask. You know, it's not one my kid has asked to see again unlike Charlie Brown. Pixar tries to tow the line between for kids and adults and it didn't really hit on either. I liked it but it will not ever be seen as a classic. I'm ready to re-watch Inside Out.
  8. My five year old enjoyed it. Definitely a bit more in the sad Bambi-Old School Disney vein but I enjoyed it all in all. Certainly not my favorite film but I appreciate that they are treating kids as intelligent and willing to challenge them emotionally. It's my biggest complaint with a lot of kids tv and films - they treat them with this oddball idealized notion of what kids should be instead of speaking to them as they actually are. I always point to ET as an example of a brilliant kids film for these reasons. Anyway, I disagree with you a degree. We can't all like the same movies.
  9. Hateful Eight I was expecting something with a bit more action but this was damn enjoyable. This is the most Tarantino something can get in my opinion.
  10. Through my Guild. I'm seeing H-8 tomorrow as well. I think you'll see a ton of noms for Revenant and DiCaprio deserves serious consideration but right now Room is winning for me overall.
  11. Why? Don't mess with Jersey man, we are a fiercely loyal state that always feels like the underdog. We can't even agree on which great town the star on a t-shirt represents because we all care so much.
  12. I had a bunch of friends from Brick - not sure how I didn't know that about you before. Used to play hockey there as well.
  13. Note: Lando was a compromise for me down from fighting for Ignatz first and McQueen second. My wife was quite sensible.
  14. I love when he talks to the pregnant woman. The people reenacting Phantom is also hilarious. Understand that I am a huge SW fan - pled to give my kid the middle name Lando and ended up keeping the L (Liam) as a compromise - but man can it all be awesomely absurd.
  15. Funny thing: I think Attack of the Clones is the best of that trilogy. I don't know, is there a right or wrong answer here? They are all terrible. This remains hilarious. Just think, even after seeing Phantom people camped out for Attack. We Star Wars fans are masochists.
  16. Has anyone tried to watch Phantom Menace lately? It does not age like fine wine.
  17. That's actually very low on the map to be Asbury. It is actually where Seaside is. Barring your SS being a poor cartographer, and I really don't want to get you too excited, it appears Snooki has pitched in to wish you a fist-pumping Merry Christmas!!!!! Lucky!!!!! (PS - I did not send this despite my obvious appreciation and affection for my home state)
  18. I was shocked that I liked Bridge of Spies as much as I did. Room was excellent. Revenant is art - not sure I'll watch again but its must see in a theater. Spotlight was very good if not a bit conventional but story always wins. Truth wasn't very good. By the Sea was awful - didn't get past 40 minutes before I stopped torturing myself. I liked Brooklyn - a nice film but I'm not clear entirely on the hype, totally worth seeing though. I've seen a bunch more.
  19. I had an invite to an advance screening via my Guild. Had to say no since my office Holiday Party is that night. I have returned my nerd card but not before going to my boss and asking how pissed they'd be if I ditched the party. The answer was "very". Now I get to wait until Monday.
  20. By the way: if you register for their site you get 25% off - that's the difference in the pricing.
