That's good news for fans, but even that could be a setup
Weeknd makes awesome music but all reports point to him being a real POS that pretty much burned every bridge that helped make him successfull

This. My wife is an exception to the rule because she's been surrounded by it her whole life. The financial side of it bums her out, but she understands that quality is costly.
 
After upgrading to my Parasound 2100/2125 setup, I came home to her listening to a record. She was literally just sitting there listening like I would. I figured something was wrong. She says "Well I put this on and was going to clean up, but it sounds so good. Like, the best sound I've heard. I didn't want to do anything else but listen." Knew I married her for a reason or two.

I doubt they would re-master, cut, engineer, etc the LP and only charge a buck more for it if they put bonus songs on it. Maybe a 7" but even then only a buck more doesn't seem enough. A limited colour variant seems most likely.

I can't be the only one who feels like a VC geezer [Juan?] -- I'm 99% positive I've seen this video a while back.  No need to shout repost! or anything.  (It was just as entertaining to watch as it was the first time.)  But there was definitely some magnet-conspiracy the first time it was posted.

The cartridge on the Carbon (Ortofon 2M Red) alone is a $99 value and a pretty major step up from the OM5e on the Essential. The Carbon also has a better tonearm and removable interconnect cables. So yeah, you're getting a lot more bang for your buck with the Carbon.
