So far I would agree. I'm disappointed in the direction they took. I applaud them for their willingness to venture out of their normal sound, but it's just not for me.

I'd probably go with 1973 as the greatest year in music, although I'm biased towards prog rock.  Here are some from 73 -

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
King Crimson - Larks Tongues in Aspic
Genesis - Selling England by the Pound
    ELP - Brain Salad Surgery
    The Who - Quadrophenia
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Paul McCartney - Band on the Run
    The Stooges - Raw Power
    David Bowie - Aladdin Sane
Yes - Tales from Topographic Oceans

I think it was actually a contest. I remember reading if you pre-order before a certain date you would be entered to win that 7". I guess you were the winner. Congrats.

I'd recommend The Wonder Bar which is right next to where the festival is taking place - the drink prices are reasonable and it's a decent atmosphere. Langosta Lounge is another option. It's right on the boardwalk which is nice, but it's definitely pricier.

I know the feeling, man.  I've accepted that I'll never feel that same thrill I did when I was 6/7 playing Red/Blue for the first time.  I really felt like I was an explorer in unknown territories discovering animals and earning their trust.  I dreamed about it.

Still, I enjoy the new games and have a decent enough time just reveling in the nostalgia the game still produces.  That said, I was never all about "catching them all" and had more fun Missingno glitching my game out and catching level 99 Rhyhorns in the water, because LOL WHY IS RHYHORN HERE???.

They're a super easy game though, and basically I can play any pokemon game without really looking at the 3ds screen while I watch tv, or take a bus/train ride. I find it relaxing more than anything, haha.

It's probably "better" to use Ebay. But it's so much easier to just use Gamestop. I've paid for my "Pro" membership ten times over this year in the additional sell back $ I get and other discounts/deals.  In the end, I could probably "save" more by selling my games third party and using the cash at Gamestop, but, it's just so much easier to do it in the same store that I'm buying something new at.

And, Ps/Xbox games have AWFUL resale values 9 times out of ten in gamestop. If you buy things for 3ds though, I've found the resale prices to be much more forgiving. Traded in 3 old 3ds games and got $62 a few weeks back. I looked up the value of some xbox games that were around the same age, and selling 3 of them would have netted me $14.

This shit is ruining gaming. Whatever happened to unlocking things, you know, by progression alone? These paid shortcuts really piss me off.

They tried that shit with Diablo III and it blew up in their faces and removed it from the game. I hate stuff like that.

Man, I'm loving Forza Horizon 2.  I definitely expected to enjoy it, but not as much as I am.  The game hugs the line between arcade and simulation so well.  It doesn't seem like many on the boards are playing Horizon, but if any are, I made a Vinyl Collective car club.  I don't really know what the "car clubs" do, but there comes a point in the game when you're prompted to join one.  Feel free to search for it and join - it's a public club.

Sure. I was probably going to go solo anyway. I wouldn't be able to get over there until around 6:00 pm, so I doubt I'll be able to get them. Hopefully I will...

Thanks for this. I'm going to stop by tomorrow after work, although I kind of doubt there will be any tickets left. Maybe I'll get lucky.

IMO, one of Weezer's best qualities was their ability to write songs that were goofy and had a degree of naivety, but managed to be sincere and heartfelt. Now their lyrics are goofy with what seems like an intention of being funny, but they're not, at all. It's a shame, I even felt Make Believe was a pretty good album, and I keep holding out hope that they'll return to greatness, but it's just not there. Sounds like they're just phoning it in.

jason tate is the whiniest bitch ever. this isn't a new opinion nor is it an original thought in the slightest... but the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" mentality is the sorriest excuse of an idea ever.

also, how is coming to the defense of large labels at all (absolute)punk?

yes vinyl prices are going up from "cash-in-labels" like SRC, Because Sound Matters and AFS (RIP). And from major labels like Warner and Interscope (lana del rey at urban outfitters?!) because it's the first thing they know they can sell in a while.

Small indie labels are still finding ways to keep prices down though because those sales aren't guaranteed. They spend more to produce each unit and sell it for less.

Like every other big corporation, big labels aren't worried about getting the music in the people's hands, they're worried about making as much money before the bubble bursts. If they could take a step back and realize they're causing the bubble to burst sooner, that'd be great.

I wasn't crazy about Max Payne 3,but that may be more of a personal taste than an indictment of the game. It wasn't terribly unique, but if you're into that type of game than $6 isn't a bad price.
