orangesix got a reaction from mappingtheyears in Angry messages and PMs from sellers/buyers
Whatever you do with you time and money is your own business, but I think record collectors are too picky about grading. Nitpicking over minor surface marks ard superficial damage. Just buy the fucking record, or don't, and listen to the damn thing. If something comes completely warped and/or unplayable I can understand. Otherwise, do you really expect every online seller to be an expert record grader? And if they're not, that automatically makes them sketchy or malicious.

~12,800 dollars in an hour, not including shipping costs and the amount of black sold. God damn.

Just goes to show how this album should remain in print. I'm guessing sales of the black edition dropped off significantly from the first few hours of the sale so they needed extra special amazing, so-much-better-than-unlplayable-black, colored vinyl to get the money flowing in again.
Yeah. This.

End of an Ear is the best one. But you'll probably prefer waterloo.

Yeah, I agree with this. At the end of the day, I'm happy that these are albums are available again, but what a strange way to repress them.

I know! I mean, I listened to it hundreds of times over the years and I think it's pretty good with some really decent songs, but at the end of the day I like every other album of theirs at least a bit more..

Not too sad about missing out on the grey anymore, though I'm confused as to why they'd advertise it as grey when it's just black with slight marble.

These are already selling on ebay for $75+, I guess that its the buyers fault for not doing their research but it still feels shady.

Death Grips fans continue to ruin this band for me.

orangesix reacted to TheGhostOfRandySavage in The Third Man Records Thread
It's a bummer that it's being put out by Third Man; I'm not a fan of Jack White or the gimmicky shit he does so I prefer not to support it. I may buy some still...but I'll only grab stuff if I can't find other pressings for comparable prices.
Edit: I'd also have liked to see someone like Fat Possum put these out so they'd be closer to the $20 mark than $30, but that's just me being cheap.

orangesix got a reaction from chiefwahoo in Can anybody give me information on the worth of any of these vinyl?
honestly, you'd be lucky to get $40 for all of them. they're all basically $1 records, maybe a couple $2-5 records depending on condition.

any of you guys know where I can get a copy of this?

orangesix got a reaction from dickcritter in Why the fuck did I sell that?
My favorite part of this thread is how it is centered around monetary regrets and not about regretting letting something go because of musical value.

I might be willing to trade my copy of Government Plates for a copy of ExMilitary.
