xjustinxschwierx reacted to idreamofpunk in Ian Rubbish and the Bizzaros free download
So if anyone else was stoked by theFred Armisen sketch on SNL about the History of Punk with Ian Rubbish and the Bizzaros, you might love to know they actually recorded the four songs from the sketch in full, and have released it for download as The Best of Ian Rubbish and the Bizzaros.
I think this would make a great 7" EP, myself.

Sorry if there was a thread about this already. I did a quick check and didn't see anything, but I could be an idiot and it could be under my fucking nose and I wouldn't know it.

No idea about color. Thought they were limited to 500. Much like you, I'm too lazy to look.

what does this have to do with the next Brand New record?
will Virgil get an exclusive color?

It was much nicer when Virgil was practically giving away records in a desperate attempt to prop up his failing business model.

From the inbox:
Astronautalis & Rickolus Split 7" to be released on Limited Fanfare Records on April 23rd, 2013 (limited to 650 copies)!
Longtime friends and collaborators, Astronautalis (Charles Andrew Bothwell) and Rickolus (Richard Colado,) both musically bred in Northern Florida, wanted to share something more than what the typical 2-sided 45rpm record usually holds – That was each other’s brains. “I remember us talking about it on our friend's porch in Texas last year after SXSW, we may have been drinking coffee. I don't know how we got on the subject, but once the idea of collaborating came up I think we both were sold. We both write a lot of music and always have little orphan ideas laying around that we don't know what to do with, this sounded like an interesting way to maybe give a few of them life. I think it turned out swell,” says Rickolus.
Recorded in both Andy's adopted hometown of Minneapolis, MN and Rickolus' stomping grounds of Jacksonville, FL, each song sees one another handling musical and production duties for the other...Says Rickolus, “On “Fallen Street” - Andy made the beat and I played guitars, wrote the lyrics and sang...and on ”The Rainmakers” I played the guitar and Drums and Andy wrote the words and sang.” The advantage of two friends getting together to work on music is that they know each other’s strengths and weaknesses – good for us that that weaknesses didn't rear their nasty little heads this time around...Only an abundance of strength in this one!

xjustinxschwierx got a reaction from waytansea27 in Would you buy? Split 12" with two debut EPs from up coming bands on it?
how about you worry less about whether or not anyone will agree to buy your record and care more about putting out records for bands you believe in no matter the results?

xjustinxschwierx reacted to jerseydave77 in Radon minibook by Aaron Cometbus and Travis Fristoe
http://microcosmpublishing.com/catalog/books/4527/
My friend Travis sent me a copy and it's a great read. I'm obsessed with all things Radon - possibly the most underrated yet overly talented band in Florida history. The LP "28" on No Idea is a true classic and their 7"s are among the best punk of the early 90s. I can't get more effusive about them to the point that whenever I see the LP or 7"s cheap I buy them and toss them into random packages I'm sending out.
Anyway, this series of books where people reflect back on albums of personal significance is really cool. I recommend starting here so you can discover a bit of the mutual love I have for this band. It never hurts when Aaron is involved but I identify with Travis' - he really nailed that moment in Gainesville pre-HWM and how that scene was developing into something that would reach national acclaim in short time.

Alf from The Fire Still Burns actually put together a documentary on City Gardens. Whenever I talked to him or the guys from Vision they'd always have stories about that place. It was definitely a love-hate relationship. The Philly skinhead problem and the Trocadero is definitely comparable. Just ask Joe Hardcore...

This is why I will not be attending. The same damn thing happened at the recent American Nightmare reunion at Webster and I know it will be much worse for this show.
