  1. They were certainly well packed. Can't wait to get back to my table Monday to listen. I'll probably watch the dvd tomorrow. Too much driving today has made me sleepy.
  2. Bumpin it. May sell some of this stuff to the record store soon if no one steps up.
  3. Dude ships seriously fast, and this deal looks like it may almost be over. Buy stuff now or cry later.
  4. I'd take Pinback's worst over most of the stuff on this board.
  5. Trusty is one of those that I don't remember, but it's sounding pretty cool now that I'm listening to it. I need to break out the 20 Years of Dischord and reorient myself with the bands I looked over when I was younger. Listening to that comp and reading the booklet was a certain highlight of life when it came out.
  6. Need to read Alan Moore's Swamp Thing. I've read most of his other big projects. One thing I'll say is screw his cthulu mythos based comic. He says he regrets the Killing Joke stuff with Barbara Gordon, then goes full rape in the cthulu comic. Talked to a big comic fan friend and apparently that's what he resorts to all too often. Brilliant writer otherwise.
  7. Need both Emma albums and will probably find cool things from Buzz. The c-ville show could single-handedly break me with merch.
  8. I think you just invert the waveform and layer it with the original. It may cancel out everything that is the same on both left and right channels, though (since vocals usually are given equal balance). It was fun to play with when I first learned about it. Can't think of much I'd like without vocals. Sometimes I wish there were different vocals for bands though, SDF being one. I just can't get into that guys voice, but I think it would be great if Dave Smalley, Shawn Brown, or someone in that vein were the vocals.
  9. Really glad a friend reminded me to get tickets this morning. My mind was on work. Appleseed Cast have been one of my favorite bands for the last ten years but I have yet to see them somehow. Also the red foxes shirt looks sweet. I'll be trying to get one of those.
  10. I need to check out more Arcturus. Didn't realize they've been around so long. I remember liking Sideshow Symphonies when it came out, then they didn't seem to do much release wise quick enough for my young brain to stick with it. Anyway, the Back on Black version of Sideshow Symphonies is $10 and change right now in intrpunk's bargain bin. It's just incorrectly labeled as a picture disc. http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=130951 Anyway, tangentially related and maybe it will get more people to check the band out at least (and then look into this thread's release).
  11. lowered more prices. We're down to the last of it and it's still great stuff.
  12. Aww, missed posting on the 666 page. Anyway. local stores: Earth - Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light II Giant Henry - Big Baby Forensics / Textbook Traitors Hot Snakes - Automatic Midnight Hot Snakes - Suicide Invoice Rudimentary Peni - Cocaphony computer: Thou - To the Chaos Wizard Youth Thou - Heathen
  13. Listened more. I guess the post rock elements of some songs just stuck out to me. I like the album, but it Boris does continue to not meet their highmarks set in the past. Would like to see Boris and Mono collaborate on something now though a la the WEG/Mono collab.
  14. Had to order. Finally dropped for the Constants 3x12" as well. The two sample Minot songs are going cool places.
  15. i just made a bad assumption, but I'm not in the MV camp either. Though one of its excuses is being an import since it's MOV. I don't think it necessarily excuses that release's price either though. Hopefully for those people the band is actually doing their own release, like it sounded like they were planning. And getting into the mess of price over years, there is a valid conversation to be had there regarding inflation vs income rates, but I really don't want to talk about the economy.
  16. You must have not been collecting for a long time. When I started $25 was too much for even a 2LP set. I think Temporary Residence even sold some 3LP sets for $25 then. It's a wide disparity, so of course people who remember lower prices are going to be ticked by the continual increase in cost labels try to get for color editions and such.
  17. Haven't listened to the 7" in a while so I threw it on. I remembered it being good, but with it in my more recent memory I'd bump it up to great. The drumming especially is excellent. Need to remember to order this soon.
  18. It's also obsession to the point of personal hazard. You could easily save up or use credit to get something expensive, but fairly available. It's like rich people "hunting for sport" in a gated off forest.
  19. For some reason I was surprised this shipped already. Looking forward more so to the dvd than the color record, but that looks cool.
  20. That's where I always thought they held the most promise, when I figured they'd eventually learn to take their disjointed parts and make more cohesive songs. There are cool ideas floating around, but it's so disjointed. And I don't mean like a spazzy power violence band or even like ctts's first album. That's really where it loses me as far as critique goes. But then again, who am I to say. If the band likes it, likes playing it, and people like this direction, I'm not going to piss all over it.
