Alligator is their peak so far, but Sad Songs --> High Violet is a hell of a run. I still feel like this one is too much mopey dad-rock, which they do very well (don't get me wrong), but it feels very long and samey and is lacking in the dynamic songs from their previous releases. maybe my opinion will change with 4 side breaks... will listen to the vinyl tonight.

I was one of the sleepy guys early on and didn't really come around on the album till a few weeks back (thought it was their weakest since the s/t)... still not sure if I'd put it any higher than second worst in their catalog, but I like it more each time i hear it. anyway, long story, I jumped on the "rediscovered" stock just in case...

anyone get this yet? I haven't heard a peep from JN on my order. I've been dying to hear the album.

splitting this album on 2LPs seems pointless to me, even at 45 rpm. I'd rather have 2LPs of bonus content... Nevermind was brickwalled to hell and back, so I don't have high hopes for In Utero. I'll happily stick with my EU Albini mix.

Live and Loud is part of the CD/DVD set, so I really hope we get that audio here too. My favorite live Nirvana recording.

are they talking about the Ghibli prints? I thought the vinyl was 3-4 weeks away.

Everything I ordered is now "ships in 3-4 weeks" but my expected date is July 31 for all 3, so I guess I ordered early enough to get lucky.

didn't realize Howl's would be the one sold at SDCC. for some reason, I thought that version was going to be exclusive and what was offered today would be a variant. Good to know it's the Japanese SDCC version.

I got one to listen to and one to keep sealed. Not many records I would do that for, but these seem like they'll be amazing. It's not often that my record nerd and movie nerd funny bones get tickled at the same time...

I don't see a lot of talk about the Ghibli record elsewhere... maybe folks don't know they are coming. All of the other soundtracks were hyped on other forums I read leading up to the order, but not so much a peep on these yet. Anyone else experience anything different?

after getting burned jumping on the Mellon Collie set w/distorted Zero (which isn't a huge dealbreaker considering I got the set for $35), definitely going to wait to hear reviews on this one and wait for the price drop. I do wish some of the bonus content from the CD set was included though... especially at the price they are asking.

I've ordered "like new" items from Amazon Warehouse and received brand new packages... most recently the Beatles deluxe Magical Mystery Tour. I wonder if the "like new" label is for customer returns that have been unopened.
