  1. Anyone who wants some more of these guys - check out the I Am Here EP. 5 or 6 live tracks. Killer stuff.
  2. I paid that much for the Mofi a few years ago. great album - worth every penny.
  3. the soundtrack phenomenon is interesting because I think it's attracting a large segment of film nerds/blu ray collectors who probably don't even have turntables. blu ray collectors are seemingly even worse than record collectors (don't believe me? go to blu-ray.com and check out the thread they have on slip cases that go over their discs - it's the most ridiculous thread on the internet). anyway, I just think there's a level of added competition for limited product on these - not only are you competing with other record collectors, but now you have this whole other niche group trying to get them.
  4. I have an Amazon order active for Aeroplane, but can't decide if I want to keep it. It will probably be the last reissue I get (I have an OG Adore and that's really where my Pumpkins fandom ends), but $145 is a lot of scratch for 5 records.
  5. there's some conspiracy chat that Ledbetter was cut as revisionist history and Vedder's ex-wife. apparently there's a lot of talk about her prior to the start of Ledbetter, so people are speculating it was cut for that reason. apparently there's precedent for it with the Unplugged set and others.
  6. Yeah, mine came today - also blue. Won't get a chance to spin it (leaving for vacation early tomorrow), but pulling the mp3z to listen in the car.
  7. cools. the last album I really enjoyed was With Teeth, but I'll buy anything he puts out. I loved Welcome Oblivion.
  8. yeah, it all depends where it ships from I find. some Hastings stores have actual record mailers; some just throw it in a "padded" envelope and send it off.
  9. I've been playing it just now and it does indeed sound really good. I can't hear any major differences in the mix yet; some minor things sound tweaked.
  10. just got my copy from Amazon - no yellow vinyl. stoked to listen after work though.
  11. I got my copy from Matador yesterday and it was indeed the clear version. BTW, amazing record. Very confident for a first album.
  12. Dang. Literally almost grabbed an OG copy on Steve Hoffman's forum for $70 a few minutes ago. Glad to see this. MOV have been really solid in my eyes.
  13. yeah, I'm with you. I'm a casual Daft Punk fan I guess, because I only really like Homework and the Tron score to-date, but this new one is tight. I even dig Touch, despite it's Andrew Lloyd Weber vibe... Motherboard and Georgio by Moroder are among the best things they've done.
  14. that would be the best thing to come out of this new record release. not that I'm not hoping this new record is good, but I'm dying for those older LPs.
  15. the CD is coming out on 5/14, according to an e-mail I got from 4AD last month. the vinyl was delayed till late June/early July for the infamous "production issues" btw, saw them in Philly on Sunday night and they were fantastic. Kim's voice is definitely not as strong as it once was, but the band was tight and they were having fun.
  16. Good price on Amazon. Glad the bleep site was a pain yesterday.
  17. Loved the movie (guess I'm in the minority) and the score was awesome. Would love to have this on vinyl... wouldn't be surprised if it was eventually released.
  18. I have a few of their releases and they are OK - the Primus and Mazzy Star ones in particular. Oh and the Ween box is really nice. After finally splurging for the originals recently, I can confirm that the MBV releases stink.
  19. yeah that was a little nuts. I'll wait on Amazon I think.
  20. same here for the Malkmus at Bullmoose, which looked to have plenty left when I ordered (and again when I checked about an hour later - it said low stock, but still should ship). bummer.
