  1. For those going to the show Saturday, the venue is now requiring a negative test/proof of vaccination for entry. Seems like a lot of venues are going that way. https://www.thepageant.com/covid-19/
  2. I’ll be at the STL show next week as well. My first show in almost 2 years. Be aware that at the moment masks are required for indoor events in St. Louis regardless of vaccination status (https://www.thepageant.com/covid-19/). Will be interesting to see how that works out at the show.
  3. I guess I didn’t realize people were down on Always Foreign. I as under the impression it was pretty well reviewed.
  4. End of an Ear is the move, IMO. Waterloo probably has the best overall selection if you factor in new records, but End if an Ear is the place I think you are most likely to find something you can’t find anywhere else, which is usually my personal priority. It’s not near downtown but a pretty close to the airport if you’re flying in so you can hit it in your way in or out of town and maybe still squeeze in Waterloo.
  5. I know this doesn’t exactly belong in this thread, but it also kind of does and I really wanted to share it, so here it is:
  6. Whoa. Link? I haven’t been able to find anything on this.
  7. Looks like the most limited (/200) is only available in the bundles, unless I’m missing something. https://knowhoperecords.limitedrun.com/categories/ymaewk?ffm=FFM_04f357dc1e6ad55f1406814704f916f5 https://youmeandeveryoneweknow.bandcamp.com/album/something-heavy?from=fanpub_fb
  8. Had Amigo in my cart with Plaid Room but wasn’t quick enough I guess. Did not expect it to be this hard to get.
  9. This is where I’m at. I’m ok with some sporadically if I like the clean stuff and the instrumentation (Wildrun, for example) or if it’s low enough in the mix maybe (Soldat Hans) but a whole album of it just sounds like when my two year old tries to talk like Cookie Monster. I consider this a personal failing, but there it is.
  10. Was wondering the same. I POed the album as well and figure it will be refunded. Seems like the album slowly started disappearing from streaming & retail spaces and now is pretty much gone (as you said even the songs from the album that were on Bandcamp disappeared). Hope she’s ok. Loved that EP and was looking forward to hearing more.
  11. I definitely have times where I’m like “why is this my thing”, but I also come to the conclusion that a person has to have a thing, and if it wasn’t collecting records it would have to be fantasy baseball or model ships or extreme rock climbing or something else, and I just really like listening to and talking about music so it might as well be vinyl.
  12. Almost started this thread a few weeks ago but I feel like I got yelled at for starting it too early last year, so I’m glad someone else stepped up. Still need to listen to a couple new purchases (Me Rex, Joshua James, Black MIDI), but here’s my current list, roughly in order: The Duke of Norfolk - A Pebble of the Brook Fishboy- Waitsgiving BRUIT - The Machine is Burning and Now Everyone Knows it Could Happen Again Manchester Orchestra - The Million Masks of God Katy Kirby - Cool Dry Place Covey - Class of Cardinal Sin Harmony Woods - Graceful Rage Baulta - Another Second Chance Evans McRae - Only Skin Postdata - Twin Flames Wild Pink - A Billion Little Lights Sydney Sprague - Maybe I’ll See You at the End of the World Trope - Eleutheromania Lo Talker - A Comedy of Errors Sam Yield - Terra Australis EPs Lauren Bird - The Farewell Arm’s Length - Everything Nice Pronoun - OMG I Made It
  13. Same. Not going to order this one since I picked it up when the OGs went up but love that this album is available again.
  14. I’ve seen a lot of people getting an acoustic Freedom 90 vibe from it:
  15. They are not deserving of your sympathy. Also, there’s some kind of “music box” instead of a CD version. https://lorde.store/products/solar-power-music-box-discless-product
  16. I mostly just pick up new things at this point. I have a list of maybe 10-15 old things that are so expensive/rare that I’ve pretty much resigned myself to never owning them, so maybe I’m there already. I used to be able to stumble upon some stuff every once in a great while when I traveled for work, but it looks like that’s no longer going to happen (thanks, pandemic!).
  17. According to their Twitter there are more that will go up on Monday. Not sure if they are ones that are listed but showing as sold out or ones that aren’t listed at all currently.
  18. A little too rich for my blood at the moment, but some good stuff here: https://nosleeprecords.com/products/test-press-vault-1?mc_cid=1cccd8583e&mc_eid=951cbb35a1
  19. New album PO. I imagine there will be more options down the road. https://hopelessrecords.myshopify.com/collections/illuminati-hotties
  20. Yeah, I liked this fine, but I bought it at the same time I bought the Arm’s Length EP (https://armslengthontario.bandcamp.com/album/everything-nice) which is a little closer to my emo wheelhouse.
  21. Vinyl pressing of the EP that was released earlier this year to much fanfare (relatively speaking): Orange /250 through Knifepunch - https://www.knifepunchrecords.com/products/704620 Green/Bone /500 through Father/Daughter - https://www.fatherdaughterrecords.com/products/704294-home-is-where-i-became-birds
  22. American Fail on vinyl through Little Elephant for those interested: https://www.littleelephantlive.com/americanfail
