ehhh not really man. i can say he's a cock and just let it be that. whether or not that's important to him is his agenda, whether or not it is important to me is mine, and the importance isn't that great at all period, but if everything has to be "win vs lose" then i guess he "wins" because at the very least he's greedy and has no sense of proper business practice and is able to make himself feel good about it however he has to do so. i don't know him personally IRL so all i can judge is his internet persona, which is almost never people's real persona. and people have justified FAR worse to themselves. it's not hard to be a piece of shit. people who are dicks love being dicks because the alternative is hating themselves and not being a dick. this guy has made attempts to not be a dick, but quite obv is a dick, and is just pulling this card now because it's the last to pull. i'm not saying that "deep down" he hates himself or regrets but it's not really an instance of "feeding a troll," it's calling out one of the board's worst members, and whether or not he can look at himself honestly or even cares about that, or if that honest look entails admitting his practices are lame, is again not really my concern. like i said, there's no way this guy has made more than 5k this year selling records, and for a lot of people that is not a lot of money. 10-20k wouldn't be a lot of money to someone with a good enough job that the time wasted trying to score records is worth more than that. while somebody who isn't a businessman (note: i am not a businessman and have terrible financial skills, just realistic) might think they are making ridiculous profits on records, it's really not that much money, and even if you are selling records full time you could probably make more than that just by being a good person and having honest business practices, and meeting someone who is most importantly looking for somebody honest. because believe it or not that's what a lot of people are looking for. honesty is really the key word and jon is most certainly not that. i can tolerate flippers because its the reality of the market. his behavior is much more pathetic than that though. and at the highest level of business/money making you have people soullessly selling people out and doing terrible things with jonpasqual-esque business practices but that is at a level of millions of dollars. this is chump change compared to that. and those people are even worse because some of the time they ruin lives or embrace business practices that are truly harmful. jon is just a douche because he's willing to spend his time ripping people off, making boots, begging for records, making new accounts instead of just trying to be real/honest/or at least embrace what it is he does. this guys just a chode making a little money on records and feeling really great about himself because he has some extra cash in his wallet. being a ripoff artist like that will only get you so far, and this guy will never make real money as evidenced from his stupid fucking bootlegs, so he's basically a piece of shit for a negligible profit, which may or may not be worse than actually making good money off ripping people off. 5k is like a months worth of strip club money for some people. i've said it before and i'll say it again, record collecting is a fairly cheap collective hobby compared to how insane a lot of others are. really, just don't buy his shit and don't hook him up, and if you figure he has a new account expose it. that's all anyone can ask for. i'm always surprised by how legit most of this forum still is.

jonpasqual is terrible, he bitched and moaned a couple months ago about Lil Ugly Mane "mista thug" getting repressed because it made his copy "less pretty," and then was still willing to play the "we're just a community card, thanks guys" when he was trying to get somebody to get him a copy of Gov't Plates (that he would've just scalped or kept as a jerk off mat i'm sure). dude is a scumbag and the worst type of record collector who is just about dicking people and gloating about it for probably less than 5k in overall profits, which is a good chunk of money, but i know legitimate honest people who have blown that on christmas lights. if he stays here longer he will eventually rip somebody off and take their money and disappear. he cannot be redeemed and he will gloat about how scummy it is to feel not only ok, but legitimately good about what he does, and tbqh i don't think there's much more to it then that.

damn that's crazy, i never bought from that label but i remember them repressing this recently(that milky clear, and maybe also "an obscure moon" repress) and i can't believe they just went defunct and took people's money. that's really a shame because this band is so good, and though i don't know them personally, seemed very nice from the limited exchange i had with them at the "obscure moon" record release. took me forever to find a copy of Just Married with the Tour cover cover a couple years ago, haven't seen one since. record rules. good luck dude. comes up on ebay every now and again, i saw a black first press go for like 25 bucks maybe 6 months ago, so you'll find it if you watch diligently. looks like there's been 2 represses since so it shouldn't take that long honestly. i bet if you just message people on Deadformat you'll find somebody willing to sell for $35 or so, if your friend really wants it that's what i'd do

i live in NYC, if you can find someone on craiglist i could probably pick up the tix for you if that would help, assuming the show doesn't overlap with one of my trips out of the city in the coming months it'd be no prob to hold on to a ticket for you. you can also usually score some cheap tickets on stubhub on the day of the show, but obviously that's a big risk to take if you have to travel.

i got my blue/orange swirl in. i'm surprised they changed it to black, it's a very dark blue swirl, but is still most definitely a blue instead of a black, at least on my copy. looks pretty awesome, this album is insane.

yeah dog knights is pretty surprisingly diverse, i imagine they would put out anything they deemed of high enough quality to do so. as far as emo goes too, almost all the bands they put out are pretty damn sick.

yeah that's how i feel, i write and read lots of poetry and am usually into this sort of thing so it's got to be pretty ridiculous for me to be as turned off as i was by when he played with them. i way prefer to just hear the instruments breath here, it's not like this band needed another instrument/voice thrown into the mix, especially when it just feels so forced. i think he talked more than the rest of the band, at one point going on about how cool it was that a biracial gay man could be on stage with TWIABP and i just felt like really? is the concert, the music, the people there not itself special enough? must we try to imbue some sort of social agenda into it? seems a little self involved to make it about that. not really into his poetry in general, seems like a cool dude and it's not terrible, there are nice lines here and there, but it definitely tries too hard and has some super corny lines despite dealing with the essentials like childhood, nostalgia, death.....it just doesn't feel real, and most of his lines feel like stuff that other writers have already done better. i feel like this collaboration speaks volumes about the quality of his work. good for the band just having fun and going for it, and good for Chris Z getting the opportunity, i even ordered the record to see if it grows on me, but i have been about as unimpressed with his work and this collaboration as unimpressed gets. in a lot of ways, he seems to be a culmination of a lot of the stuff i find obnoxious about the north east literary scene. trying to do the artistic/experimental prose but still keeping everything sort of nicely tied up, trying to put forth this really bare honest image but i'm not entirely convinced that he's bleeding. it doesn't feel real. sorry for being a hater guys, i bet Chris Z. is cool as shit and i'm still glad this music came to fruition, but i would almost rather the songs have just been instrumental, because yeah from I've heard live/from singles it all felt really forced. edit: for what it's worth i thought Space Exploration was pretty solid on it's own though
