haha damn sorry man i didnt even know, threw a t shirt in my bag and checked out, total was high enough cause of the shipping and i just saw at the end that they knocked it down to five, wasnt sure what the discount was for.

still a good deal considering it was a $5 record and the limited variant... if thetes anything else you want id cop, this record is unreal and the band really deserves the hype/money anyway.

saw them ages ago at some random fest in virginia i drove in for.  like 30 bands came but fucking nobody bought tickets. it was me, my friends, and a handful of locals...

lots of cool shit like 2 guitar tiny moving parts, whenskiesaregrey, into it over it, and i think old gray played but ive seen them so many times i dont really remember.

state faults played tho circa desolate peaks (?) and it was easily the best set of the whole weekend. their drummer is unreal.

Def feeling the He Is Legend vibes, this reminds me a ton of I Am Hollywood with a dash of ETID chaos. I didn't like the track posted that much at first but I've returned to it and the other singles quite a few times since, I think this album is going to be nuts.

Not sure if anybody wants to do this because they are pretty expensive, but I'm looking to grab a couple of the guitar pedals Kurt is selling at the show. They are selling out every night, I'm after any of them except for the SBD Fuzz. If anybody wants to grab one or two for me, PM me, I will not only reimburse you costs+shipping but I will also send you four or five records as a thank you, DW stuff or similar, I have a big collection and could use to make some space so just let me know what you like.

My buddy saw them last night (which is why I have the SBD fuzz) and said they were killer, hope everyone going enjoys.

I do think that the overall piece would be improved with the removal of that section, but in all sincerity dude I would remove all of this stuff before people make records of it unless you are 100% sure that this is how you want to be perceived. If this doesn't leave the VC messageboard then yeah it's just a lol but honestly if this was to go viral or something I don't think people would takeaway what you want from it, and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

If this is something you have to do then my recommendation would be: remove all videos/website etc. and try to distill your "algorithm" down to its bare components. Like 4-5 paragraphs. What you have there is basically unreadable. Whatever it is you're getting at, this message of globalist future peace or something, I don't think you need more than a page or two to really say it. The whole point of stream of consciousness writing is to let everything come into play, and then take what's worthwhile and distill it.

Again, though, I would remove all this stuff if I was personally you, and I say that against my own self interest. People are going to post a lot of rude things and the overall message is too jumbled to have anyone "agree" with you.

Very true,  but Baizley and Bertmer are also really big names. I love Florian's stuff.

Not trying to suggest anything by it anyway though. I only said Jake's name because I remember Jane Doe and Unloved selling for like $500+ (I bet those ones still get up there).

The prints are beautiful and I bought one of the Baizley ones. I just haven't been keeping on the print game in the last couple years and it's weird to see all those prints (as well as some of Jake's other prints) hang around. I hope he keeps making them and they are awesome as always, certainly not a negative reflection on his work, I just remember when prints were exploding almost at the rate of vinyl and it's interesting to see that it has fallen off some. To not see even one of them sold out while the vinyl vanished is surprising, although I'm sure many people (like me) ran out of wall/storage space. Glad Jake and everyone is still making them, I still remember seeing Poseidon/Hephaestus and being blown away.

word dude, regardless of the product i definitely respect your attitude and what you're trying to do. just know you'll encounter a lot of vitriol, and if you want to get your ideas out there, the best place to begin is probably on a local level.

i think, generally speaking, panopticon is probably the favorite of their discography. the production is perfect, the sound is generally accessible, and despite being a slow burn for the most part the payoffs are huge. in some ways it's one of their more inaccessible albums but usually that is the one i hear people say is their favorite.

and so when you think of ITAOT, it is kind of an anomaly in their discography, it has a sound they never really did again with all the shard-like delayed guitars and songs that really felt like songs, as opposed to, i don't know, movements on an album (which is definitely the case for Panopticon, most of all). while i would encourage gumbo to return to panopticon again (and again and again and again) i can definitely see how ITAOT is pretty unique in their discography, and it is a very engaging album from the first listen.

when it came out i thought it was for sure their best album, especially after Dulcinea being the lead single (and that song really is the perfect blend of more "song" oriented isis while still retaining their usual textures and heaviness.... but man those 7 minutes fly by).

i'm not bashing anyone's opinion or anything, just sharing my love of the band, but man Panopticon really is such a perfect album. i think it still, to this day, has the best production of any ISIS album, ITAOT is a close second but when you put Panopticon on and just crank it that album washes over you like nothing else.

altered course is probably my favorite on it, that song is such a great example of a different facet of their sound that they do amazingly. the whole album is mindblowing though, especially when listened through.

i would actually say that the band that most sounds like sunbather era deafheaven while also predating the sound is a screamo outfit called Cease Upon the Capitol. their last release, untitled, was the first thing i thought of when I listened to sunbather. a rarely mentioned but sweet band.

those tweets are disappointing but not exactly shocking. i think it's funny that whoever wrote the article tried to add significance to it by playing the angle of spreading awareness with "why are we bringing it up" when it's pretty obvious to most people, i'd like to think, that drudging up four year old tweets like these are exactly the sort of inflammatory social justice agendas that internet publications love to use to whip people up into a frenzy.

it's an ugly word and certainly reprehensible but in no way anywhere near as big a deal as some people are going to make it out to be. IMO the bigger issue at hand is that he admits to liking Rancid.

It was just totally mind blowing for when it came out. I'm sure it would still hold up, the gameplay isn't great but it isn't really gameplay oriented. The atmosphere of both games is really unique and incredible.

Dreamcast in general is just a must have system. It has so many incredible games and even now there is still an awesome shmup being released every few years.

Sega Saturn rules really hard too. I had a dreamcast as a kid but not a saturn, but I bought one a couple years ago and have been loving it. It's got a lot of incredible games that you can't play anywhere else, even emulated.

so Ive got this on clear with green splatter, which should sound the worst, and it is pretty noisy and sounds very tinny, but honestly, you can remedy that by just cranking it louder till it sounds good. its just an amazing emo album, one of my favorite releases this year for sure, and i play this album all the time and love how it sounds.
if all else fails, exclusively listen to it with a pre emptive bowl.

funny article. this whole thing is like everything obnoxious about record collecting in 2015 compressed into one stupid idea. i've bought plenty of dumb stuff pertaining to my record collection but it is beyond me how these guys got 30k in funding for this, even if it had delivered on its promises its still just a terrible idea. the fact that it is all stuff from the 50 cent bin advertised as being "hand picked" around the most trendy "moods" they could think of (vance joy) really drives home how it could only ever be a gimmick.

i know i'm just saying what everybody else in this thread has already said but man i'm glad this is just falling on its face. it will save the world months of #checkoutmyVNYL tumblr/instagram whoring if nothing else i guess. between the kickstarter, the social media, the "mood playlists" and the over compensatory attitude the guys who created have (#keeptherecordsbro) despite it being such an obvious cash grab are the stuff i'd expect to see in a parody.

just doing a few random record swaps on a forum like VC is a way better way to get a similar experience to what they offer, and you actually have a chance to get something good.

i'm surprised to see that nobody favors alaska. i'll never forget how face melting that album was when it first came out. i had heard silent circus and thought it was crazy but it was like night and day with alaska. i like how it's not as grand an affair as their later stuff, how excellent Laser Speed is as a closing track, and how well every song stands on its own.

and even though everyone rightfully cites Selkies for an example of guitar heroics, the entire album is just packed to the brim with weird and original guitar riffs, plus perfect tone/production that they've never really had quite as good since. out of all the tech death bands who play proggy btbam esque riffs and even the rest of btbams catalogue songs like Roboturner, All bodies, and ofc the ridiculous title track are still basically unmatched in my eyes. plus the breakdowns- especially the one that closes the insanity of Autodidact- are just wild.

Colors I feel was their last 10/10 masterpiece but their later stuff rules too. if any other band then BTBAM had released parallax they would've instantly been considered one of the best bands in metal. The great misdirect is also really good, although i'd probably say it's their worst album. i like to think of it as their "jammy" album, it's kind of hard to explain why i feel that way but it really comes out in Swim to the Moon i think. it's just a fun album that sounds like it came together quickly and organically, the solos have a more improvised feel.... Fossil Genera and desert of song don't hold up well as tracks on their own though, IMO.
