ribstabsheart
IIRC, they're remastered and on higher quality vinyl. I have the OG pressings of Steady Diet of Nothing, In on the Kill Taker, and The Argument that are all on ~140g vinyl and they all sounded fine as well.. deletedunknown
I've had no problems with any remastering jobs for Dischord releases. There was somebody on the boards that was pretty against them for some reason, if I remember correctly.
Guest
Yeah, I just wanna mention again that Lungfish is fucking great and that everyone should get some Lungfish records.
GradedOnACurve
The remasters didn't sound any better or worse IMO. I do think they use United though.

Dischord should re-press their albums. All of them are classics that should be available.
deletedunknown
Is there any particularly good way to navigate Lungfish's discography? All I have is Talking Songs for Walking and Indivisible. Prefer Talking Songs a little bit more.
jhook
Dischord, ripping off the kids since 82.

Prefer Talking Songs a little bit more. If you prefer Talking Songs, i'd check out Necklace of Heads, Pass & Stow, Rainbows from Atoms, or Sound in Time. Those are their earlier, more aggressive albums (and pre-Indivisible).

buddha4281
though I am not fond of their other albums, "No Kill No Beep Beep" by Q and Not U is the shit. dont know if anyone has mentioned this yet. also back the Faraquet and Hoover suggestions. kjkenney
I second Q And Not U. Such a great band! Also, Capitol City Dusters are great. 'Rock Creek' is most excellent: Pretty simple rock stuff as far as Dischord goes, but highly recommended.
Guest
I've worked my way backwards when it comes to Lungfish and it's worked out well. I like the more repetitive and weirder shit, but going from that to their almost "college rock" shit made me appreciate their earlier stuff whereas if I listened to that first, I probably would have not continued to listen to them. funtitled
Instead of dischord giving an apology for charging 2 dollars more per lp, we need an apology for every label that charged 25$ + for a crappy cd mastered record. David Loyd

That would require ethics. Typically business and ethics don't mix. How Ian isn't another Greg Ginn or whatever exactly happened with Alternative Tentacles/Dead Kennedys is surprising in a general sense. Ian just manages too be a good person and businessman, a sad rarity. funtitled
mxv
Dischord, ripping off the kids since 82. Even if this is meant as a joke this is perhaps the dumbest post ever on this board which is really saying something. How exactly has Dischord ripped anyone off? buddha4281

timpopkid
The best record Dischord released was Goodbye Dr. Fate by Trusty. Go buy it!
deletedunknown
Trusty is one of those that I don't remember, but it's sounding pretty cool now that I'm listening to it. I need to break out the 20 Years of Dischord and reorient myself with the bands I looked over when I was younger. Listening to that comp and reading the booklet was a certain highlight of life when it came out. BennyWatts
radiatorhums
Pretty rad that they gave a heads up regarding the price increase too, can't think of too many labels that would do that. ratbrain
