Thanks for sharing this! Looking for a European distributor but apparently I will have to order from the US

Johann Johannsson's superb debut album gets re-issued on Deutsche Grammophon. 2LP set also contains remixes and reworks. He intended this release by himself - and then he passed away.

I read about this this morning. Seems a fitting time to reissue his debut. I wonder if we'll ever see a proper recording/release of his unused scores for Mother! and Blade Runner 2049.

I hope so, but I wouldn't count on it. Has anyone heard any news as to how he passed? It was so sudden - I couldn't believe it when I read the news in the early morning.

Sadly, no word yet. I've read it could take as many as seven months for an official COD. It's not prioritized because it isn't suspicious. A similar story with Dolores O'Riordan apparently. Just terribly sad all the way 'round.

It was an instabuy for me because Yagya POs sell out fast. I'm kicking myself for not going for the limited Claro Intelecto before it sold out last year so I'm not repeating the same mistake.

I've been getting into a lot of this stuff lately, anyone want to recommend some staples?

I think just the standard Swingline S.F. 1s work pretty well, but I'd keep them well away from my LP's. Especially the quiet ones.

Thanks, I was eyeballing this one and it seemed kind of extravagant.

I missed the blue Stars & Dust but only (only?) wound up paying around $80 for it on Discogs at one point. Sleepygirls ltd has eluded me, however.

Oops. Meant to say Sleepygirls myself lol. I did get a used Stars & Dust on Discogs too, with a beat-up cover (shitty card stock on everything Dekmantel).

Porter Ricks, Silent Harbour & Thomas Köner if you're into the nautical dub stuff. Aleksi Perala if you're into the weird techno bits.

In general for the genre I go to Boomkat & even Bleep and browse new & upcoming stuff, take note of labels even more than artists tbh & seek sample tracks on Soundcloud. Juno.co.uk has a great list of upcoming stuff from Euro labels.

Pacific Beach Vinyl is a great online shop. They have steep discounts for bulk purchases.

yeah i recommend that silent harbour album as well. reasonably priced on discogs at the moment: https://www.discogs.com/Silent-Harbour-Silent-Harbour/release/8649124

also recommend Recondite - Placid. it's a little more techno than ambient, but nice and minimal.

Spoiler

also recommend In The Wake Of The Dark Earth by D.Å.R.F.D.H.S.

https://darfdhs.bandcamp.com/album/in-the-wake-of-the-dark-earth

also recommend Deepchord. lots of stuff to choose from and released a collaboration recently that's pretty good:

Spoiler

I just can't even with them. Their shit sells out faster than probably any band I know (There really should be a running tally... 36/3six is up there too).
