Le Gogh
How I've read it, the regular release is on chocolate brown vinyl and there will be 5 on gold vinyl which those will include the "golden tickets" of the lifetime passes. http://clubbastardo.shop.musictoday.com/Product.aspx?cp=297_16607&pc=OLLP16 Available on chocolate-colored vinyl! Five golden LPs will be produced and scattered about at random. Each copy comes with digital version of the album. Item #: OLLP16 Also, that picture of the golden vinyl above is a photoshop, as admitted by the guy who submitted it to /r/vinyl. http://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/2jukhd/primus_and_the_chocolate_factory/ Ha, thanks for clearing it up. Looks like I walked right into that one...
burdenx
Anyways, I still stand by you opinion that you will not listen to this more than 2 times when filed next to other Primus records Alternatively, I think it's great and will listen to it many times. Weird how taste works.
natenomm
That looks mighty golden to me! Is that yours!? Does VC have a winner??? Nope! It's a 'shop from a dude on Reddit. http://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/2jukhd/primus_and_the_chocolate_factory/ cambionic
papashawn
I got my "bootleg" copy from Bullmoose yesterday. I was kind of disappointed because I didn't realize it was such stripped down packaging. I just thought it was a numbered version. The cover is very plain, and there's no insert or anything. Not sure if the standard edition comes with an insert though. I listened to the A side last night, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's not Pork Soda, but I'll definitely listen to it more than once or twice.
cambionic
It's a lie. I pulled a Paraguayan Millionaire on ya! I'm honestly not sure what it will look like. I can only hope that it'll be that golden!
zdkaiser
That is the color of the MOV edition of the Brown Album.
cambionic
That is the color of the MOV edition of the Brown Album. Gorgeous! I might have to look into getting a copy of that! I just photoshopped a picture of Macklemore's Heist album to make this. (I'm "the dude on reddit"). natenomm
mameeshkamowskwoz
I really like it.I wouldn't consider myself a huge fan of Wonka (liked the first movie, haven't seen it in over ten years, didn't see the Burton version, never read the Dahl book (but did read plenty of Dahl growing up and up until about 8 years ago when I kind of stopped reading very much)) but I do have a huge Primus bias. It's pretty much what I was expecting and considering that most of the music in the original was short snippets that is only what detracts from it... the brevity.I'm used to hearing Primus songs ranging from a bare minimum of 4-5 minutes (save for the segue way tracks on Pork Soda and other albums) to 15 minute live jams and they aren't long on the Chocolate Factory, but they are good and true to the originals while still being very Primus (and at times very Pink Floydy... especially the last track.)That being said, I consider it a worthy compliment to the Primus catalog and I'm willing to bet that it's 10 times better live (as they'll jam out) and it was cool to hear Mike Dillon and Skerik on the album and the cellist as well.If anyone wants to part with the Black-was-supposed-to-be-white Bullmoose version, I'll gladly buy it from you. What's up with this Lilac UK version on Discogs?!http://www.discogs.com/Primus-Primus-The-Chocolate-Factory-With-The-Fungi-Ensemble/release/6200922

mameeshkamowskwoz
Must be a UK or EU only version. Piccadilly has it and Norman might. Any idea if it's at all limited or is it just the color in the EU/UK? If it will be as easy to get from Discogs or eBay as the brown one in the US, I'll just hold off for the secondary market. unravelled
I'm just getting around to giving this a spin. As a fan of both primus and the movie, I think I'll be playing this quite a bit! It's a lot of fun to listen to and also a little creepy. Great project.

I did some digging and 2 of the sites I've seen it on say it's limited but I haven't seen a number. The orange sticker says it's lilac and some sites list it as purple. Amazon UK has 3 versions listed and it looks like this should be the lilac http://www.amazon.co.uk/Primus-Chocolate-Factory-Fungi-Ensemble/dp/B00NOB05XE/ http://www.roughtrade.com/albums/87519 http://www.whatrecords.co.uk/items/63133.htm http://www.vinyltap.co.uk/primus-and-the-chocolate-factory-with-fungi-ensemble https://twitter.com/EdgarKruize/status/526430246644776960 http://instagram.com/p/uqxOv_iJ9r/ http://instagram.com/p/uvFIfgq22g/ http://instagram.com/p/ufvkV9HiLb/ This rainbow splatter or whatever is even more interesting. My brain can't handle how hard it would be to track all those down. I'll stick with brown and hope I come across the black Bull Moose, the Purple/Blue/Lilac or the weird rainbow splatter some day. JoToRoBo
I think they're holding off on releasing them until everyone has three copies each. I made the mistake of ordering through my works distributor. I ended up with the white hand numbered bootleg. Not a bad record to own, but I really wanted the chocolate wrapper jacket and chocolate bar record with a chance for the gold.
