jon720
I emailed both sub pop and plain recordings a month back and both said they weren't going to repress old Ramon or songs for a blue guitar again. Things could always change of course.
xxmartinxx
"Songs From a Blue Guitar" is still pretty available, no? EDIT - apparently not

Rip
Preordered Down Colorful Hill from Amazon. I was lucky enough to get a boxset but my copy in the set has a raised scratch-like thing during the first half of the first song on side B. Really happy everyone else can get these now . downisthenewup87
Songs for a Blue Guitar is easily my favorite Red House Painters album and possibly my favorite of Mark's releases (April/Ghosts being the others). Super bummed that they have no interest in reissuing it.
Eliminator Jr.
Songs for a Blue Guitar is easily my favorite Red House Painters album and possibly my favorite of Mark's releases (April/Ghosts being the others). Super bummed that they have no interest in reissuing it. Unlike the first four records, Songs for Blue Guitar has not been released via 4AD. It's not a lack of interest, it's a lack of distribution rights.
downisthenewup87
Oh I'm aware, but a poster above mentioned having contacted the label that does have the rights and apparently they have no interest in a reissue (for now).

GreatGreenOne77
My OG Old Ramon may just be my most prized record So many people seem to hate on that record too, but it always felt like a huge pinnacle to me. I thought it was and still is a master work of great arrangement and wonderful songwriting. It's certainly in my top 3 favorites of his releases for sure Tommy

I thought it was and still is a master work of great arrangement and wonderful songwriting. It's certainly in my top 3 favorites of his releases for sure I would totally agree. I had Old Ramon on CD way back when, and I just found it was such a relistenable album - I have mixed feelings about much MK stuff post 2005, but Old Ramon has always been a favourite. inaptitude
Weird this isn't up on amazon.ca yet. I have my order in at 4ad but would cancel if it comes in cheaper (which it likely won't as I find amazon.ca now lists items expensive and drops the price slowly). GreatGreenOne77
I received my preordered copies today. Is there still a spelling error on Down Colorful Hill or did they fix it?

xxmartinxx
Really? Am I the only one who got them already? What was the spelling error? I listened to "Rollercoaster" and it sounds good. I'd have to check on the pressing plant.
GreatGreenOne77
What was the spelling error? Down Colorful Hill was misspelled on the spine and is missing the R in colorful on copies in the boxed set
xxmartinxx
I'll check when I get home.
