3arl
Biggio for sure and maybe Bagwell. Hoping I can be a proud Astro for one day.
paintedinexile
I really hope Jack Morris gets in. This is his last year of eligibility.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think the only player who has a chance at first ballot HOF this year is Greg Maddux Ive always kind of hoped that Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz would all get elected into the HOF together
kyacrash
Ive always kind of hoped that Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz would all get elected into the HOF together that would be pretty cool. I'm sure some voters might feel that way too and vote for Glavine and Maddux this year together. Smoltz won't be on the ballot til next year though, and like I said I'm betting Maddux gets in first time.
lemongoat
Maddox is going to be close to unanimous
paintedinexile
He should be unanimous.
thebiglebowski
98.84% is the highest anyone has gotten, hitter or pitcher. It was Tom Seaver. If anyone has a chance to go unanimous, it would be Mo. Just a feeling. Only takes one dude from Bean Town to vote against him, though. lemongoat
Rickey Henderson only got 95%. I'm trying to find an article I remember reading about a guy that didn't vote for him, and the garbage players he did vote for. Aaron Sele got a vote last year
lemongoat
I really hope Jack Morris gets in. This is his last year of eligibility. Saw this tweet today - To "catch" Morris in ERA, David Cone would have to throw 925 IP with a 5.53 ERA

lemongoat
I don't think Glavine or Smoltz will be first ballot
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I don't think Glavine or Smoltz will be first ballot Glavine has 300 wins and 2600 K's smoltz has 200 wins and 150 saves with 3,000 Ks they'll both be 1st ballot
lemongoat
Glavine has 300 wins and 2600 K's smoltz has 200 wins and 150 saves with 3,000 Ks they'll both be 1st ballot There have been 15 1st ballot guys in the last 20 years. I don't think either one is that level of elite. I will say, the steroid era throws the whole thing off. A guy like Glavine who has never had that stigma could potentially receive extra votes because of that fact

lemongoat
I feel like if I applied for free agency I'd get at least 2 years 12 mil chamb117, thebiglebowski and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
travis
Pretty surprised Kazmir got more than 1 year and really surprised someone is giving him $22M
lemongoat
Over 9 Ks, under 3 walks and his best average fastball velocity, 92.5, since 2005. And while one would worry about him breaking down, he actually got better as the year went on. In a climate of ridiculous deals for SP's, this is a pretty good one

thebiglebowski
Going to guess Smyly to the rotation, Clippard comes back to take the situational lefty role. Maybe another piece too.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Nationals have acquired starter Doug Fister from the Tigers, a source tells Chris Cotillo of MLBDailyDish.com (via Twitter). Going back to Detroit in the deal will be second baseman Steve Lombardozzi, lefty Ian Krol, and a prospect, tweets Jim Bowden of ESPN.com. Cotillo previously noted that Lombardozzi was likely part of the deal, and also tweeted that 22-year-old, left-handed pitching prospect Robbie Ray was probably headed to Detroit. thebiglebowski
Don't like it. If they were going to move a starter for prospects, move Scherzer! He's not going to repeat last year.
