jhulud
Before we start the whole listening vs. collecting debates, I figured I'd just do up a thread to see what bands you guys and gals are glad got into collecting and listening to vinyl early. Getting their stuff from day 1 and not having to hunt down releases at inflated eBay and trader prices. And...here...we...GO! Shai Hulud Endpoint Minus the Bear (kinda not really...early enough in that I didn't have to spend much) Ink & Dagger Split Lip Chamberlain Elliott
valentine
And...here...we...GO! lol joker sadly the bands i was getting into early i had to stop collecting due to money. i would have had a complete btmi right now for sure. also 1000! mediocore
I got into these early enough that tracking down my missing pieces won't break the bank too badly (in most cases): NOFX MFATGG
xfedaykinx
BOTCH ISIS CAVE IN THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN my immense jealousy leads me to hate you for me, its basically just The Gaslight Anthem..... fucking demos 7"
roadmonkey
I'm really happy I got into listening to Ceremony pretty early. I haven't much collector wise, but some of the stuff I have could be considered ebay gold for some. Pissed I didn't get into mastodon collecting early enough though

sgoodcore
I think at this point its just Gaslight. I don't have too many things I collect that are outrageous. I suppose you could throw Sunny Day Real Estate in the mix. I got most of it early on before prices got sky high.

travis
Yea I thinnk for me its just Gaslight. The only things I dont have now or have on order are probably the 2 hardest pieces to get from them. The black SOS and white Senor. One day Ill get em.
dante3000
Gaslight Anthem (like everyone else) otherwise I'd never had the black SOS. Teenage Bottlerocket, even though I'm not doing all the live variants, I never would have been able to get some of the pieces I have now, if I hadn't started a while back. The Riot Before (you watch fuckers!) Austin Lucas, I know his stuff is getting harder to find and when Bristle Ridge is all out American side I think it'll be harder to get. cadetapplesauce
I got into collecting Shook Ones early enough. i started soon after FFF came out. actually, to be more exact, i started when i won the FFF test on ebay. luckily kelly still had extras of rare stuff (FFF record release, FFF east coast) so i got an extra head start on them. smash
Brand New. I bought numerous white copies of YFW and just gave them away as gifts. Kinda wish I had kept them so I could eBay them

bouncingsoles123
Haha Flood started Bomb so early. He was the first to have a TLOD record! Haha. Bomb the Music Industry Lemuria (I bought one of those Ergs/Lemuria screenprinted cover 7"s for guess what? 4 bucks) Ergs sorta Steinways (got the Peabodys split on green and Rocket Surgery apparently people are crazy for em now) Yeah...I think that's it. adamlikesmusic
Uh... Only band I do all variants for is The Tim Version. So them, I guess. I started doing RARs at the 9th press, which wasn't too bad. I'd hate to have to pay eBay prices for some of the more recent ones.
hickey
Screeching Weasel Steinways I had an amazing Jawbreaker collection back in the day, but sold it to take a sweet vacation and I've regretted it ever since.

bouncingsoles123
haha, I almost bought a Keep Your Heart on grey for about 40 and then said "I cant afford that" That was the beginning of the end of my dreams of a Loved Ones collection. I do have Build and Burn on Green though.

mrc
i guess my biggest is Less Than Jake. i dont think i have paid over $15-20 for anything besides the pie tin and most were bought for like $3 or $4. Back then i didnt really collect, i just bought a couple records every time i saw them play and by the time i got to college i had a shit ton. Young Livers - hoping to keep it complete. hasnt been bad so far and thats weird since they are a no idea band. The steinways - I was lucky to be able to get everything since i didnt have any of their records until months after the Dont miss the Boat 10" came out. Strung Out - The only difficult thing to find was American paradox on blue
