jhulud
Just like anything music discussion, it's all subjective. For example, because I have been on a kick lately, I'd say Lush's "Spooky" or "Lovelife" And I agree with STP's "Tiny Music..."...such a great album. mediocore
It's hard to argue about any of these: Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie... Weezer - Pinkerton STP - Purple Foo Fighters - The Colour & the Shape
thebiglebowski
In addition to most of the albums already named in this thread, I would add Our Lady Peace - Clumsy.
captainmorgan
I also have a soft spot for that Oasis album. But so far as the Pumpkins go, it's all about Siamese Dream. Mellon Collie is just too long, in my opinion.

captainmorgan
I bet you also think the Constitution and the Bible are too long as well... Why do you hate America?! The Bible is waaaaaaaaay too long. Once, in my youth, I tried to read it, and I didn't even get halfway through Genesis. Also, apple is one of my least favorite kinds of pie. Fuck you, America! birdwell
The Lonesome Crowded West Love that record...my favorite ModestMouse record...but i unfortunately stumbled upon around 2001/2002...and wouldn't set it as the best 90's alt-rock album....simply b/c I think of Alt-Rock as a a band/record that got radio-play whether or not it deserved it[granted I'm drunk typing this]
twat
Badmotorfinger was good, but Ultramega O.K was balls to the wall. My most listened to 90s "alternative" album: Ministry - mind is a terrible thing to taste. Not quite metal, but they set the standard most industrial bands. they also had no airplay yet were selling out 3,000 capacity venues. There live shows were dangerous to say the least. twat
Anybody else like Failure? They were good, different but good. They opened up for tool on the opiate tour. Also one of the members from Failure plays in a band called Autolux, they RULE.

cj
a couple people have said the color and the shape and i have to agree with that, and someone said badmotorfinger, but i think superunknown was the jam. black hole sun, spoonman, superunknown... it was start to finish solid.
