Mnolan15
Man the East is weak this year. I saw a stat that the West is 50-17-5 or something around there against the East this year. I know the West is big but still kinda crazy if you ask me.

parkinglot
the east gets all the media coverage and superstars (Crosby, Ovi, Stamkos) yet the west has FAR superior teams. i thought this was a well known fact.

Seems like the Sharks / Avs are getting plenty of attention from what I've been watching. But I generally agree.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Vanek said he liked Buffalo, but didn't want to be part of the rebuild. I'm still ok with the trade, I love draft picks. Hopefully Darcy won't be the one using them. I'm also ok with another season like this next year if it means Connor McDavid. saw him in Erie last year, kid is redic. his production last year tailed off, but man he's on a hot start so far this year at age 16. he could end up being the top pick in the 2015/16 draft. KennyFuckingPowers
Its still too early to call a bunch of teams weak.Im not saying a word till December.
IanRees
Buffalo is retaining 20% of Vaneks salary, that extra draft pick makes more sense now. I think without that it would have been Moulson & the 1st for him. And it sounds like the 1st is a conditional one, if its ends up being a top 10 the Isles can keep it and it becomes a 2015 pick instead of 2014. KennyFuckingPowers
While the deal is more fair now, I think its still stupid of them to trade for something they didnt necessarily need.

weinerdog
I've been a kings fan for 25 years, I get it You won a Cup recently. Nothing compared to the pain of being a Leafs fan. I have little hope they'll win one before I die. (unrelated: was awesome to see Bob Miller hold the Cup)
IanRees
Yeah but there was aaaaaalot of suffering before them. I think the Leafs are on the right track, I wouldn't be surprised if they won one in the next few years.

IanRees
Why? They have solid goaltending, a really good forward group and a pretty decent d-core. They are leading their division right now. I could see them following the Kings footsteps, make the playoffs a couple times and then go on a run. Their D & bottom 6 just needs a little tweaking. parkinglot
i would not consider the leafs to be any sort of a threat to win a cup in the near future, unless literally every player gets hot and the right time, but that could be said for any team. IanRees
mind you im not saying i think they will, im just saying i would not be surprised. I think they have a good team capable of doing it if they learn the right lessons and get upgraded in the right areas (cough get rid of orr cough)

I hate that man, but he did get the Ducks a cup. The leafs are building into a team that could go all the way. I agree with Ian.
