akross Posted April 23, 2009 Share Posted April 23, 2009 Battletoads Ikaruga (made it to the 4th level once, but only outlasted the 3rd boss, never killed it) Bangai-O Spirits (I can only beat one level, what the fuck is up with this game?) Ghosts & Goblins/Ghouls & Ghosts (hard as hall, I snagged one for the virtual console because I apparently hate myself. No clue how I ever beat them back in the day). Contra 4 was also decently tough. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne isn't necessarily the hardest game ever, but the difficulty (even on Normal) is leaps and bounds higher than most other RPGs I have played.
