WTF??!! NH Obama Protester w/ GUN??

Recommended Posts

Wow...I just read a post from one of my relatives on face book. She's fairly conservative and goes to church regularly and has two kids and she posted that big thing about how we already have a ton of social services. Not in a negative light but a very positive one and how social services are very important. Then there's like some 60 year old women who commented below her with, "And social security too. Where would we be if that was privatized?" I gotta say, I'm really presently surprised by that...like blown away really.

As for the Canadian healthcare system, I don't think it's ideal. In fact I know it's not but I don't feel our system right now is functional either. Ultimately (and this is a "one day we'll all have flying cars" type thing), we need to change our point of view from the self centered, money driven view point. When we realize our country's well being is determined by not only the well being of its economy but its people and the people we come into contact with. Humanity isn't supposed to be divided among imaginary lines of boarders or economy. When everyone wakes up and realizes it's in their own best interest to look after the interest of their neighbor, then we can actually make some progress.

Right wing rednecks (and I use that term to describe someone who isn't Southern, but rather ill informed and ignorant) confound me.

Bush says, "Hey, piss on the Constitution, I'm going to declare war on a sovergin nation and I'm also going to introduce this Patriot act to strip you of your rights!" and these people said, "RIGHT ON!"

Obama says, "It's Constitutionally debatable, but I'm going to introduce a plan to help the economy and our people by allowing them free and/or affordable health care!" and these people are like "FUCK THAT SHIT NEGRO! THAT'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL!"

I'm not sure if it's that the Right Wing media is so good at fear mongering that allows these people to protest what is good for their own self interest or if these people are so retarded that they don't realize. Either way, it's really sad.

True story, they were talking to the protesters outside of the Obama town hall on NPR and one guys said, "I don't want socialism. If I wanted socialism I'd go back to pre world war two Germany. Because you know who liked socialism? Hitler".

There were so many holes in that statement I think it officially killed three historians and a nuclear physicist.

Glen Beck compared America today to pre WW2 Germany on his show yesterday.

It would be fun to poll these people at the town hall meetings and ask what their position is and where they get their news from. I think it's obvious what the results would be.

If anyone in this country is in need of an assassination attempt, it's Glen Fucking Beck.

I've decided I'm putting together something on-line to get Rush to go away. I think. I'm not sure yet but would anyone be interested in collaborating?

In what capacity?

I'm going to be pretty tied up in bullshit for the next couple of months. Once I get back in New Orleans, I'll have a lot more free time on my hands.

there's this indian guy from canada who added me on face book because we both post on the same pirates board. anyways, all he does is post right wing anti-obama links to rants from idiots like carl rove and glen back. today he posted on from rove about how obama is "demonizing his enemies and stuck in an endless campaign". i immediately called bullshit, ripped the article apart, we went back and forth like 2 posts, then he deleted me. fucking hilarious. you can't try to talk sense into these toads or show they how idiotic their positions are.

I watched a few town hall meetings that were televised and heard the same babble. "this isn't russia", This is socialism, and Obama is a nazi".. over and over again... which basically means they are getting their info from the same source. But nothing insightful to offer. I just wish both sides would stop fighting for a minute to listen to each other to work out some kind of plan. Instead the right has gone so far right as to not listen and make radical statements which have in turn made the left more angry, and people all mad at each other accomplishes nothing.

I did love the Bill Maher quote on the gentleman in SC who yelled "keep your government hands off my Medicare," which is kind of like driving cross country to protest highways. he's a asshole, but at least he's spot on.

Honestly, on this, I don't think the Democrats have the best interests of the country in mind if they try too hard to work with the Republicans on this. My biggest fear is the middle is shrinking in voice on the national stage. There's nothing but abusive dialogue, the kind I thought was rejected during the 2008 election.
