But seriously, there's something they're not telling the entire truth about. How is it that these labels have released three albums recently all released by other labels within weeks of each other. Is this band/record any good? I've never listened.

I don't know if there is any truth to this, but I'm pretty sure Scott Heisel posted that RJ worked for Universal or something like that. Someone said that wasn't true, but that someone wasn't RJ (just another board member). All 3 huge releases by MTS/AFS have been Universal (Dude Ranch, Enema, Devil). If he doesn't work there maybe he is close to someone that does. Why else would he get these licenses? I'm sure other people have tried to press these records. Who knows.

I don't feel like digging through posts, but when the EOTS was originally announced, I distinctly remember RJ had said something along the lines of "it's all about who you know", or something like that.

I think what they're not telling the whole truth about here is that Brand New are probably being a bunch of douchebags. AFS are probably just trying to be accomadating to the band.

this really sucks. i was ready to order 25 of these today so that i could pay my rent for a few months afterwards. now what am i supposed to do? now i have to find somethign else to make money off of. does anyone think that the ones on interpunk will go up in value soon? i had a good feeling these would. but not the ones released by the band. dang

Yeah, but now I'm glad I did. Not that it isn't still readily available, but for whatever reason the superior AFS version has been delayed once again, I'm just happy to have a copy on the way.

i dont think this has anything to do with the band being dicks or afs being a secret organization that's under the control of universal records which is own by sony who owns the world, it's just the band probably wanted to work out some more details of THEIR music being released. stop pointing fingers and just let the red tape do what it does. it's still coming out in some fashion and the afs release is still happening at this moment. just delayed a little longer. chill out

while i doubt this was mts/afs's fault, it is annoying reading threads full of "u guyz rulez," "ur da best," etc. when they have yet to hit a release date. both blink albums shipped late. rj went on two vacations while people still didn't have their records. i can understand praising them when they actually go out of their way to do something. but so far all i've seen is people pay for records & not get them by the date promised. there are a ton of other labels out there that hit their release dates or wait til the records are in stock before posting them for sale. i tried emailing afs about the person l pre-order & never received a response. so my dealing with them has resulted in records shipping late, not responding to emails, & still waiting for the dude ranch record.

was the label you worked at manned for the most part by yourself? and on top of having 5000 orders to ship you have other label work to take care of? shit happens, there are labels who do a far worse job shipping and responding to emails with like 25 pre orders. its not like the release date is missed by 3 months. get over it. i'm not "protecting a friend", i am pointing out taht you and most people here are cry babies.

should i feel sorry that he brought in $30,000+ and is gonna add another $30,000+ in a short time? hire someone. simple. its not like those 7"s afs/mts put out are paying for the rent on an office. most smalls labels are run out of houses, garages, etc. i don't want to hear a sob story when you're bringing in a shitload of money. this isn't a small operation anymore. the second they got licensed to press blink this became huge. i'm not being a baby. i'm speaking the truth. its not hard to reply to an email. this was months & months ago. i'm not gonna second multiple emails.

edit: if he's having so much trouble getting the records out why doesn't he pick up some mexicans from home depot or post an ad on craigslist. instead he was looking for interns to do it for free. thats cool. interns are awesome. but you need to hit a release date. i don't care if there is other work to be done. especially when the pre-order is 1-2-3 months in advance.
