hickey
Also, this is another reason why I try to buy directly from labels when possible.

apeman
I agree with the pre-order aspect. Since the period between pre-order announcements and having the product arrive at my doorstep getting longer and longer, I only purchase VC/SH releases after they've shown up at the warehouse and are ready to ship. With labels where pre-orders run like a clock (Bridge Nine, Deatwish Inc. etc.) the situation is quite the opposite, but as a customer I can't show VC/SH that trust as things have developed. Guest
Pre-ordering today is like the regular ordering of the 90's.
hickey
I sold my Co-op share a few weeks back. Was it lack of activity or lack of interest in the records that prompted you to sell?
pastepunk
Pre-ordering today is like the regular ordering of the 90's. QFT. Every mail order then was a crapshoot. Tracking numbers? Ha! I just kissed the cash goodbye that I stuffed in the envelope and hoped that in 4-6 weeks maybe something would come back.
scottheisel
Couldn't all of this have been avoided had the original poster, I don't know, picked up a phone and called Virgil? How does a private phone call achieve transparency? The OP's saying how he couldn't reach Virgil via email and thus made this thread to get his attention. Why not try calling him? People have no idea how to conduct business on the phone anymore.
mrc
I sold my Co-op share a few weeks back. Was it a pain in the ass process? i have been considering to do the same. How quickly did you get your money returned?
vardcore
Look, I think it's completely stupid to demand transparency. Opaque records are cool too and they sound just as good.

robx
After pirate/gz openly saying they were owed a lot of money, and label after label complaining about not being paid, you would think people on here would stop defending their leader blindly. Guest
So VC/SH needs money but I should stop buying stuff from them because they can't pay people? Are you familiar with the old robot saying "DOES NOT COMPUTE?"
ihprstl
Look, I think it's completely stupid to demand transparency. Opaque records are cool too and they sound just as good. But they usually cost more to manufacture...
evvandflow
i havent purchased anything from VC in over a year, because i have seen its decline. how is this justified? i can understand not purchasing a pre-order, but to not purchase something from a company you know isnt doing well, seems backwards. initrecords
Why is there still new SH releases coming out when labels are still owed nine months of payments? I've been wondering about this too.
daniel
Yeah I think if there was ever a time to order from VC it'd be now, although the steady flow of new products in the store poses a problem haha.

If you don't keep releasing new products, how are you going to make money to pay your debts? That's for any business. Customers don't keep coming in for the products that you already have that they aren't interested in.

Actually if you keep releasing records, which are expensive to make, you end up more in debt instead of paying your debts. This is NOT the way to get out of debt, as anyone with decent knowledge of business and/or retail will tell you. You clearance off the old. This is true too, but you don't think the Tim Barry release is a profitable release? It's got to be a combination of both.
