necronomidom
I have a spot that delivers the goods fairly consistently. Off the top of my head, here are some of the best finds (from one store) over the last five years: Agent Orange "Bloodstains" $7 Descendents "Ride The Wild" $5 Vores "s/t" aka "Love Canal" $10 Shattered Faith "I Love America/Reagan Country" $5 The Enemy "Bang, Bang" $
circlingvultures
I think finding a record you want to listen to at a price much less than you'd be willing to pay could be considered a good deal but then again I'm one of those retards that listens to the records I buy. Well, if you read my post, I stated exactly what you said. However, from the perspective of a record collector, it's just not a real "find". And yes, I listen to my records and probably take much better care of them than you. dude, who cares? there are so many records on here that people pay stupid money for that I think are ridiculous. If someone finds one of those records for cheap and they feel like they got a good deal then it's a score for them. I personally fucking hate Bob Dylan but I wouldn't randomly shit on someone else who found one of those records for cheap if it made them happy. johnpdillard

flood
Sorry, but most of those Bob DYlan, NOFX, and Epitaph records releases aren't worth shit. as far as nofx, you must not be familiar with how rabid their fanbase is... most of their epitaph era releases are in demand because they didn't have huge press runs, in relation to how big their fan base is... and the more limited releases, especially their 7"s go for decent chunks of change. blackbubblegum
One of my better scores was an original press of "Everything In Transit" with the plastic wrap still on it. I only paid $9.99 for it, because the cashier saw it was a 2XLP.

SweetJerryWine
Reading this thread depresses me. (don't care about all those old metal records above me, but it sounds like a good deal) It just makes me infinitely more aware of how big a rip off my store is. Even the used stuff (of which there are only oldies) are never cheaper than $10, and any 7" (new or used) is never cheaper than $5, where most are closer to $10 or more. I always see a bunch of used Talking Heads, Bowie, etc going for $20.

What is that crappy unknown blues artist?? Put it in the garbage.... BUT we all know that maiden, supertramp, genesis sold billions of these!! So they have NO VALUE (exept for the tracks that you like) It pisses me off when i see an Iron maiden-number of the beast, scratched lp at 25$ or, pink floyd the wall for 30+ bucks
turbobrando
My friend picked up the first five Every Time I Die albums for $6 bucks a piece. The first three were 1st pressings to boot. Pretty Girls Make Graves, Q and not U, etc.
vinyljunkie
Actually the bigger name bands with bigger presses have a higher percentage of being worth something than some crappy local-ish punk band. Sure there was a whopping 10,000 records pressed, but for a band that sells millions of copies of CDs and has tens of millions of fans thats pretty rare. There are lots of pink floyd and led zeppelin records, that had hundreds of thousands pressed and are still worth 30-40 dollars. conversely just because something is limited to 4 copies doesnt mean shit in its financial value if you only have 1 fan and its your mom. Nowadays limited is a selling point because everyone is a flipper. when in reality, limited is just the only option for most bands because if they pressed 5,000 on black, they would still have 99% of the pressing left in 10 years. I hear that. I worked at a flea market for a few years back in the late 90s. Supply could never catch up to the demand for bands like Zeppelin and Floyd. That stuff would sell the day it came in without fail.
