Used Bin Finds

A lot of people have mentioned recent releases...most of which, although good, aren't worth shit...has anyone found any good punk records from 70's and 80's??

I recently found the Human Therapy 7" from 1983...not a big find though.

couple of years ago i found a HICKOIDS lp for $2. I rarely find good old stuff here. most of it gets taken by the employees at most of the stores. i get the leftovers.

There are really 100 songs on that 7"? How short are the songs, and what do they sound like?

nah, it's actually a really awesome release. they're all locked grooves so none of them are 'songs,' but rather bits of audio that work well as a loop.they did a bunch of subsequent locked groove lps, but this 7" started it all.

i got mewithoutyou/norma jean split for $2.99, and the la dispute 'here hear' 7" for $1.99 at Amoeba in hollywood! recently sold both for $40+ each

Yeah, a lot of record store employees are knowledge about 70s and 80s punk, so they wouldn't dare sell something like the Tapeworm 7" or Ice and the Iced 7" for less that $10 (for those who don't know, those two records go on ebay for $1,000 +)

Yeah. My local store, which doesn't have a huge selection, has at least 2.

Only one for me was The Break S/T for $2 maybe at Waterloo back in '05 I think. It was a good find for me at the time as I loved their song on a Doghouse sampler that came with AAR. Plus it was red, which may have been the only color it was pressed on. I stopped looking for some reason.

unfortunately i go to two stores that have buyers who collect kbd stuff so yeah, i'm fucked. if i found a tapeworm 7" i'd shit myself (really, i would). i'm still hoping for finding a screaming sneakers 7" one day. i can't even find that shit on ebay.

dude...where did you pull these from? coheed and thrice at $10 is pretty damn good. im in the south bay and head up to SF and Berkeley pretty frequently...i never find anything this fantastic at rasputin or ameoba.

I did indeed! I got a couple other things at Dave's, but I was pretty stoked on those. Reckless had a used copy of "Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes" on red but it was $80 and I was not dropping that much money on it.

i've found a lot of good stuff at reckless, most notably a couple copies of the 'we all know you can do it' 7" for 7 or 8 bucks. reckless also has great prices on screamo/skramz stuff too...
